Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” that former President Donald Trump was “neck-deep in this personally” in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Discussing the new Senate Judiciary Committee report on Donald Trump’s actions after the 2020 election, Whitehouse said, “I think really key takeaways from this, the first is a simple one, that’s how deeply personally involved President Trump was in all of this. Meetings and phone calls, and contacts in the Oval Office. He was neck-deep in this personally. That would be point one.”

Cybersecurity experts who held lucrative Pentagon and homeland security contracts and high-level security clearances are under investigation for potentially abusing their government privileges to aid a 2016 Clinton campaign plot to falsely link Donald Trump to Russia and trigger an FBI investigation of him and his campaign, according to several sources familiar with the work of Special Counsel John Durham. Durham is investigating whether they were involved in a scheme to misuse sensitive, nonpublic Internet data, which they had access to through their government contracts, to dredge up derogatory information on Trump on behalf of the Clinton campaign in 2016...

Armed Services panel secretly fought court battle this summer to quash subpoena seeking records of contacts with ex-FBI official Daniel Jones and liberal-funded The Democracy Integrity Project nonprofit. ================================================================================= The efforts to disseminate a now-discredited theory that the Trump campaign had secret computer communications with the Kremlin extended beyond the FBI, CIA, and State Department to the U.S. Senate. Under the late Sen. John McCain, the Armed Services Committee engaged a former FBI official and his progressive-funded nonprofit to produce a report on the matter, according to court records obtained by Just the News. The Senate committee, now under Democrats'...

Republicans are seizing on President Biden’s latest coronavirus vaccine mandates as a campaign issue as the party looks to galvanize its base ahead of the 2022 midterms and 2024 presidential elections. On Friday, former Vice President Mike Pence and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) took to Fox News’s airwaves to lambast the president’s move, while Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) called the mandate “an assault on private businesses” in a tweet. Meanwhile the Republican National Committee vowed on Thursday to sue the Biden administration over the mandates. Nationwide polling shows mandates are generally popular, but Republicans see an opportunity...

After it looked like the legislature was finally about to reclaim its authority, Governor McKee plunged the state back into unilateral rule. For all the wrong reasons earlier this summer, the Rhode Island General Assembly finally did the right thing in restoring a proper balance of powers. But just weeks later, the governor double-crossed lawmakers with an audacious, and likely illegal, power play. Now some lawmakers are speaking out against their own party’s governor and asking leadership to intervene against his latest gambit. In a state where COVID-19 case and fatality rates have persistently ranked among the worst in the...

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — A 20-year-old Rhode Island woman pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced immediately to life in prison for the 2020 murder of her ex-boyfriend’s mother. According to the office of Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha, Shaylyn Moran of Pawtucket pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and carrying a pistol without a license in the shooting death of 54-year-old Cheryl Smith, WPRI reported. In addition to the life sentence on the murder charge, Moran also received consecutive 10-year terms for the additional charges, The Providence Journal reported. Moran did not shoot Smith but...

From a lawyer’s point of view, the lawsuit’s claims are ridiculous – but they sure make the teachers look guilty. Nicole Solas, a Rhode Island mom with a kindergartener in public school, was curious about whether CRT had entered her daughter’s school. Therefore, she filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with her school district. The school has been fighting her to keep these taxpayer-funded records private and, just this week, the local branch of the National Education Association (America’s largest teacher’s union) sued to block her request. Frankly, from a lawyer’s point of view, the union’s objections are...

Police are investigating after a mob of ATV and dirt bike riders allegedly pulled a woman out of her car and beat her in a late-night attack in Providence, Rhode Island -- the latest incident in what officials are saying is a spate of "out of control" violence. The incident happened Tuesday night, shortly after 11 p.m., according to a copy of the police report obtained by ABC News. The 35-year-old victim had honked her horn at a group of about 10 ATV and dirt bike riders after they failed to move through two green lights, according to the report.......

When Doris Duke, a fabulously wealthy tobacco and power company heiress, ran over and killed a longtime employee and confidant at her Newport, Rhode Island, mansion in 1966, police took her at her word that it was an accident. But the story of the killing at Duke’s Rough Point estate, which has resonated in the seaside tourist mecca, is being challenged by a witness — the paperboy. Bob Walker, a Marine Corps veteran, says he was there the day Duke killed 42-year-old Eduardo Tirella, driving into him twice with a 2-ton station wagon as he screamed below it. Peter Lance,...

A Rhode Island middle school teacher says critical race theory is finding its way into public school classrooms and creating racial hostility and mistrust among her students. Ramona Bessinger has been a public school teacher for more than two decades. For the past seven years, she’s been a middle school teacher in Providence. She currently teaches at Esek Hopkins Middle School. Over the years, Bessinger says her lessons have been diverse, running the gamut from poems by Maya Angelou to speeches by Martin Luther King, Jr. She’s also taught units on slavery and the Harlem Renaissance, she said. "I consider...

Has anyone ever seen Sheldon Whitehouse and John Forbes Kerry in the same room, or at the same yacht club? They are two peas in a pod — St. Paul’s School, Yale, Yankee bloodlines back to the Mayflower, living large on trust funds, never touching the principal, a pair of insufferably smug Democrat hypocrites. Whitehouse is the senator from the Ida Lewis Yacht Club and the Spouting Rock Beach Association in Newport. He’s been in the news this week after it was revealed (again) that his two go-to places to sneer at the hoi polloi are a lot less diverse...

The infantilization of black and Hispanic Americans by Democrats has been on overdrive this week as they have tripped over themselves to show how phony their new “anti-racism” act really is. President Joe Biden led the way for his party, using the “Latinx” label to refer to Latinos despite the fact that 76% of them have never heard of the term and 97% of them don’t use it. On top of that, Biden implied that all Latinos in the United States are here illegally. Not to be outdone, conspiracy theorist Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse defended his membership in an allegedly exclusionary...

NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus, 49 Democratic senators stay mum Democratic lawmakers and racial justice advocates have kept quiet about Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s membership in a racially exclusionary organization, seemingly satisfied with the Rhode Island Democrat's explanation that it is nothing more than "a long tradition." The Washington Free Beacon asked all 50 Democratic members of the Senate, as well as the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP, for comment on the controversy related to Whitehouse's association with Bailey’s Beach Club. No office, other than Whitehouse’s, responded. "The club has no such restrictive policy. The club has had and has members...
