If twitter is anything to go by lots of natives pledging to defend the war memorials from the hordes of Muslims and immigrants protesting on Armistice day / Remembrance Sunday. See: What can the British police do to stop Remembrance Day protests as war memorial at riskIt'll be very sensitive especially if they do desecrate those sacred memorials as the Prime Minister has warned I can see things getting nasty. Emotions will be running high. Keep an eye on this Remember, remember the 5th of November...

This what was supposed to be the end of the first week of my trial in the DC Superior Court septic tank. Instead, the "fourth trial judge" decided to yank the trial at the last minute, after I and my wheelchair and everybody else had already flown to America's dismal capital city, just to ensure we'd all be out another few thousand bucks. Nonetheless, I thank everyone who's signed up for one of our limited-edition trial souvenirs: The SteynOnline Liberty Stick. The trial may be postponed for a few weeks (months? years?), but the Liberty Stick is shipping right now....

Rishi Sunak has warned that the Cenotaph and other memorials are at risk of being "desecrated".Police are expected to launch a large-scale operation to crack down on protests surrounding Remembrance Sunday. Rishi Sunak has warned that the Cenotaph, along with other war memorials, could be "desecrated" if protests are able to go ahead unchecked. Tens of thousands of demonstrators are planning to take to the streets to call for an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East on Armistice Day on Saturday, November 11, as well as Remembrance Sunday on November 12. Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, Mr Sunak...

An MP is urging the government to consider deploying the military to ensure there is no disruption to Remembrance Day after pro-Palestine demonstrators said they intended to hold a ‘million-man’ march on November 11. Crawley MP Henry Smith told the Express: “After consecutive weekends of demonstrations where the Cenotaph and other national monuments have been grossly disrespected, it’s completely inappropriate for further protests to be held over Remembrance weekend. “I don’t have confidence in the Mayor of London or Metropolitan Police under him to properly handle the situation given their past poor record, and call on the Government to consider...

The Anglosphere, at least in terms of their willingness to defend traditional Western values, has become the sick men of the West in the eyes of many. From the inability of even supposedly conservative governments in Britain and Australia to prevent the encroachment of medical tyranny to the nearly-countless BLM riots in America, it seemed only a matter of time before proudly post-national Canada would come out with their latest round of cultural brain farts, and it would appear that they (sadly) did not disappoint. According to Summit News, a war memorial in Canada dedicated to fallen soldiers was defaced...

FOUR people have been injured after a grenade was reportedly hurled at a Remembrance Day ceremony for Brit and French expats in Saudi Arabia. France's foreign ministry confirmed a number of people were wounded in the blast at a non-Muslim cemetery in the Saudi city of Jeddah. George Malbrunot, who works for French newspaper Le Figaro, reported a "grenade was thrown" at the ceremony taking place on Armistice Day. Unverified pictures allegedly from the scene show splatters of blood on the ground and at least one person receiving medical care. The veteran reporter, who was once held hostage in Iraq,...

Canadians are up in arms after Whole Foods banned its employees from wearing poppies in honor of Remembrance Day, the nation’s holiday for fallen soldiers. The Amazon-owned supermarket chain reportedly told employees that pinning the traditional red flower to their work uniforms — which consist of an apron, a coat or vest, a hat and name badge — was against its recently updated uniform policy.

Today, we join the global community in memorializing the lives lost during the Meds Yeghern, one of the worst mass atrocities of the 20th century.  Beginning in 1915, 1 and a half million Armenians were deported, massacred, or marched to their deaths in the final years of the Ottoman Empire.  On this day of remembrance, we pay respect to those who suffered and lost their lives, while also renewing our commitment to fostering a more humane and peaceful world.Every year on April 24, we reflect on the strong and enduring ties between the American and Armenian peoples.  We are proud of the founders of the American Committee for Armenian and Syrian Relief, a ground-breaking effort established in...

There is no doubt when Don Cherry and elderly old stock Canadians, so detested by the left, are gone Remembrance Day will be no more A few things occurred in the lead up to the November 11 Remembrance Day ceremonies this year. These events are proof positive the day set aside for those who fought for Canada, many making the ultimate sacrifice, is on the way out. During these times it is simply too politically incorrect to honour the country’s military. The major occurrence was what Don Cherry, former hockey player, NHL coach and Canada’s number one patriot said on...

What do you think about during the two minutes silence? I used to think of men at war, and hear in my head the shouts and the clash of arms. Now I see a narrow street of small houses at dusk. A young man in army uniform is embracing his wife and little children in a lighted doorway. He will not return. I recently learned that, on the first day of commemoration, in 1919, the silence was often far from silent. In many places, when the traffic and the factories stopped, the sound of uncontrollable weeping could be heard in...

The Queen and senior royals attended a remembrance concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Armistice Day. The annual Festival of Remembrance in London, which commemorates the war dead, included performances from Sir Tom Jones an Sheridan Smith. It came ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 11 November, which this year marks 100 years since the end of World War One...….

Two bugle calls, framing a symbolic night watch at a cenotaph… it’s not a bad way to spend a couple of minutes every year Ritual is an old human activity and some of the best ones operate at a more or less unconscious level combining symbolism with myth and belief. Our basic Remembrance Day rituals on November 11th seem right and fitting, and they evolved that way in the immediate aftermath of the First World War. Our Remembrance Day observation combines elements of classical Greece and Rome, a Christian hope of resurrection, and practices that probably go back to pre-historic...

Commemorates International Holocaust Remembrance DayHOUSTON, Texas - Today Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz released the following statement in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day."Today the world remembers the greatest atrocity in human history. The utter horror of the Holocaust must never be forgotten. We mourn for the millions of people who lost their lives and the families who lost their loved ones. And we honor the heroism of the Jewish people - and all those who were persecuted - their courage will always reverberate throughout the world."Just last week, it was reported that the Israeli citizen and Holocaust survivor Yisrael Kristal...

They laid down their lives so that others—originally Americans, but later, people of many nationalities—might live and enjoy the blessings of liberty. Scores, if not hundreds of millions, of people are not only alive, but are free today because Americans took up arms and laid down their lives for the sake of others.

Germany is breaking one of its major post-war taboos by announcing there will be an annual Veterans' Day to remember fallen soldiers. The country's defence minister has unleashed a storm of criticism from opposition politicians and pacifists who object to the army being honoured given Germany's bloody past in the 20th century. German Defence Minister Thomas de Maizière has proposed May 22 as an annual Veterans’ Day to honour former soldiers living and dead. This would mean honouring those troops of both world wars who acted as aggressors - and in the case of the Nazis in World War 2...

A few days ago sub-humans desecrated a war memorial in Calgary with an unconscionable act of vandalism. Here's a young Belgian boy who, more than fifty years after Canadian soldiers sacrificed their lives to liberate his nation during World War II, shows more gratitude, honour, and respect than many of our own younger generation.

'THE last poppy from World War One has been discovered preserved in an attic. The flower is the same brilliant red as when it was plucked from a Flanders battlefield more than 90 years ago. Soldier Percy Hands carefully stitched the poppy to a postcard and sent it home to his wife Mary in 1917. The love token lay hidden in an envelope for years until Percy's grand-daughter Chris Baldwin found it on Thursday - Remembrance Day.' http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3225821/The-last-poppy-from-WW1-found-in-attic.html#ixzz159hnLGeU

Ninety-one years ago, King George V proclaimed that "the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" would be observed throughout the British Empire as a commemoration of the cessation of hostilities in the Great War a year earlier. It still is. Two years ago, just before Remembrance Day, I was in the Crown Colony of the Turks and Caicos Islands and saw the islanders' preparation for their ceremonies. In parts of Europe, Armistice Day is also observed. And of course it is Veterans Day in the United States. This essay, written for the first November 11th after...

Army cadets have been left ‘bitterly disappointed’ after being banned from carrying rifles on a Remembrance Day parade - amid fears the weapons might 'upset' onlookers. The young cadets have proudly marched with rifles for decades and around 100 had spent months fine-tuning the drill where they would showcase their skills. But the cadets were left 'gutted' just days before the big event when military top brass cut the rifles from the display following complaints from members of the public.
