Islam’s sacred scriptures present the kuffar -- meaning all non-Muslims -- in the most negative terms possible. The popular Egyptian daily newspaper and website al-Masry al-Youm (“the Egyptian Today”) recently published a fatwa titled “What Is the Ruling on Selling Food to Infidels during the Daylight [Hours] of Ramadan?” The fatwa concluded that, no, it is not permissible for Muslims to sell food, even if the purchaser and consumer is a non-Muslim. As discussed here, because the daily newspaper that published this fatwa, al-Masry al-Youm, has long been seen as a progressive, reformist newspaper -- one that thrives on exposing...

When the owners of the Circle of Hope boarding school in Humansville, Missouri, were arrested last year on more than 100 combined charges of child abuse and neglect, authorities pointed to an unlikely whistleblower: their 31-year-old daughter, Amanda Householder. In a new lawsuit filed in Polk County Court, Householder alleges that her parents, Boyd and Stephanie Householder, routinely abused her and her younger brother, beating them with golf clubs and a leather whip and force-feeding them until they vomited. She also alleges the couple abused the teenage girls entrusted to their care at Circle of Hope and forced her to...

AFP John Burger - published on 12/23/21 On the 30th anniversary of the dissolution of the USSR, we look back at the dozen years when a formidable superpower gave way to a revolution of conscience. As they did each evening, a small Catholic family in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic sat in their living room, watching the evening news. It was October 16, 1978, and the announcer said that that day at the Vatican, a bishop from Poland had been elected as the new pope of Rome. He took the name Pope John Paul II.The family’s only child at the...

Given the daily indoctrination by the Palestinian leadership, its pay for slay program as well as the original Charters of all the major Palestinian groups, which reveal their goal to obliterate Israel, only the cowardly or deluded could possibly believe that this goal will miraculously vanish in the face of appeasement. It’s only a matter of time before Hamas and other jihad groups funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran regroup and again launch rockets at Israel, only to be met with Israel’s defensive maneuvers, and then as usual, the propaganda and hate against Israel and Jews will again escalate....

The guest essay literally proposes killing God. “The God-shaped hole” posits that humans are hardwired to seek meaning through a divinity. Certainly, no culture has ever been without a God—and that’s true for Marxist cultures, which have sought to make a god of man, always with deadly results. The most recent example of this comes from a guest essay at the New York Times from a very angry, lapsed Orthodox Jew who insists that the world would be better if it “passed over” God. It’s a sad, foolish essay but one that the Times thought worth running on the holiest...

In 1970, Agnes Moorehead performed this dramatic Biblical reading as a special guest on the 'Oral Roberts Easter Special'. The show was actually recorded a couple of months earlier, in January 1970. Moorehead, of course, was best known to TV audiences as 'Endora' the mother of Samantha on the hit ABC series 'Bewitched' at the time of this special. I thought I'd share it here as we celebrate the beginning of Passover and Easter weekend around the world. Moorhead was a devout Christian, brought up in a strict Presbyterian household in which her father was a minister. It's been reported...

It's unclear whether the relic — a piece of the "true cross" — was on board when the Moskva sank. The Russian Orthodox Church announced in February 2020 that the relic had been delivered to the then-commander of the Black Sea fleet, Vice Admiral Igor Osipov, and was at the fleet's headquarters in readiness for delivery to the ship "shortly," the state-run Tass news agency reported at the time. The Moskva had a chapel on board for sailors to pray in, Sergiy Khalyuta, archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church's Sevastopol District, told Tass. He said the fragment was to be...

BET SHEMESH, ISRAEL—Investigators working with the Israel Antiquities Authority have claimed David used an illegal "ghost" sling in his famous battle with Goliath. Experts allege the ghost sling would have been untraceable, which would account for why Goliath was caught off guard so easily. "Goliath, a man who stood about 7'10" by modern reckoning, would not have been defeated so easily if David had a legal sling registered with the proper authorities," said Dr. Phil Gath, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. "David probably used a 3D printer or something, maybe he just stole some leather and grabbed...

For Catholics and other Christians who mark Lent by giving up something, this often means alcohol, sugary sweets or another item they like to nosh or quaff. This wasn't enough for the Rev. Marc J. Roselli, who had already cut back on some favorite foods for health reasons. So the Jesuit priest made his ears, not his stomach, the focus of his Lenten sacrifice. From Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, he won't listen to Beatles music. "You know, you're giving up a part of yourself," Roselli said in an interview. "Chocolate is not a part of me." Roselli, who came...

For the first 23 years of his life, Pastor Douglas Ponder had never heard of the word “Lent” because he was raised in a Southern Baptist household. Now, over a decade later, the 38-year-old pastor can’t get enough of the Lenten season. Lent is an annual season of fasting that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the day before Easter Sunday. This is a period of 40 days plus Sundays, as Sunday is a day of rest and is not considered part of the observance. Although more commonly practiced among Catholic and mainline Protestant denominations, some Evangelical and non denominational...

The First United Church of Oak Park is on a mission to end “racism, injustice, and violence,” and the strategy is exactly what you’d expect from ideologues of the America Left: more racism and hypocrisy. Under the leadership of Reverend John Edgerton, the congregation has been “fasting from ‘whiteness’” in observance of Lent. According to the official press release: Justice must be loved into existence. It is the only way. White people absolutely have a place in the redemption story. White people were even at the foot of the cross: they were the Roman guards. As white people we must...

Fifth-graders in New Jersey could be taught that puberty blockers are an acceptable way to 'manage' adolescence and masturbating 'a few times a day' is a healthy way to relieve stress. The new sample lesson plans, some of which are accompanied by animated videos, are part of a broader, K-12 health and sex education curriculum adopted by the New Jersey Board of Education. The plans, which were first reported by Fox News, are now being reviewed by individual school districts in the state. In one proposed lesson plan aimed at fifth graders entitled 'It's All about the Hormones,' students are...

A Louisiana pastor and religious school headmaster who is facing multiple charges for taping shut the mouths of five chatty 13-year-old students defended his actions and claimed the seventh-graders had bullied their teacher into tears. John Raymond, 60, was arrested last Thursday and charged with three counts of cruelty to juveniles after the shocking incident at Lakeside Christian Academy in Slidell on March 18. The former Survivor contestant took to the school's website Monday to blame the young boys for his actions. The pastor said the students 'showed complete disregard' by constantly interrupting their seventh-grade class with non-stop chatter, but...

This show has grown a tremendous amount over the last year. We’re grateful to everyone who has joined us on this journey, but we’re also especially grateful to those people who were here from the very beginning. If you were here at the beginning, you might remember the promise we made to you then: We told you that our goal was to force ourselves off the air. We promised to never sell out to Big Pharma or corporate sponsors or anybody else. We promised to never stop fighting, to keep exposing everything until there is nothing left to expose. Today’s...

God’s FootprintsScience makes faith plausible, not impossible.Andrew Klavan’s reference to the popular Bell Curve meme calls to my mind one particularly provocative version of that meme, in which the three figures representing the different levels of insight and intelligence address the relationship between science and belief in God.The dullard on the left-hand tail of the curve says, “don’t listen to science, all the answers come from God.” The representative of conventional wisdom sitting at the top of the curve says, “God isn’t real. You should trust the science.” But then, as in all versions of the meme, a twist occurs....

On Sunday, about 1,000 bikers rolled into Hollister for their motorcycles to be blessed on Palm Sunday. It’s a tradition hosted by the Top Hatters club and has been going strong for 29 years. “You want to get your bike blessed. You want be safe on the road, have the Lord protect you on your travels,” said Robert Poelker, Top Hatter club chairman. Bikers say it’s a day that’s not just a blessing for them but also for the community, bringing in some much-needed business. Bike event promoter, Bob Richards said, “It’s a blessing for businesses as well in this...

CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) - Several more former students of a boy’s Christian boarding school in Cedar County are filing lawsuits. The group claims a wide range of abuse, from starvation to physical and emotional abuse. ”For nearly three decades, students at Agape Boarding School have experienced emotional, mental, physical and sexual abuse,” the group’s attorney, Ryan Frazier, said in a statement to KY3 on Friday. “Today, we filed petitions in Cedar County for nine of those victims, to pursue justice for the trauma they endured and to have their voices heard.” Robert Bucklin went to the school from age...
