From the recent attack on an IRS building in Austin, Texas, to assassination plots by skinheads on Obama, "anti-government 'patriot' groups—militias and other extremist organizations that see the federal government as their enemy—[have come] roaring back to life," reports the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a civil-rights organization that tracks active hate groups nationwide.
