One of Iran's top military commanders is believed to have been killed in an Israeli attack that targeted the new leader of terror group Hezbollah. Esmail Qaani, head of the Quds Force – the elite wing of the feared Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) – was reported to be with the new leader of Hezbollah, Hashem Safieddine, who was targeted in his HQ bunker in Beirut by the Israelis. The air strike on Thursday night during heavy bombing of southern Beirut was mounted as Safieddine held a secret meeting with other Hezbollah leaders in the underground intelligence headquarters.

Major General Ori Gordin, leader of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Northern Command, visited southern Lebanon on Friday and looked back at the Israeli villages that Hezbollah’s terrorists have been firing upon for nearly a year. As Breitbart News has documented, the route of the Israel-Lebanon border gives Lebanon the high ground, meaning that Hezbollah had a strategic advantage once it illegally occupied the border area in defiance of the United Nations. Israel has taken control of portions of the border area since launching a ground attack in Lebanon earlier this week.

An Israeli security source on Saturday confirmed to Sky News Arabic that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's successor, Hashem Safieddine, was eliminated in a Friday night strike. According to Al Hadath, commanders from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were eliminated together with Safieddine. On Friday, Israel estimated that Safieddine was injured in the strike, since those who were with him in the underground area which was struck could not have escaped the site alive. In addition, it is estimated that alongside Safieddine, senior Hezbollah intelligence officials were also present at the site and were also injured. Safieddine, 60, is a cousin of...

Will the White House Learn Any Lesson from Iran’s Attacks?: For the second time in six months, the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a barrage – this time, 181 missiles – at Israel. Administration principals, from Joe Biden himself to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan each stood by Israel unequivocally.

What we know Israel launched intense strikes on Beirut targeting Hezbollah's presumed new leader as he met with other senior militants, an Israeli official told NBC News. The IDF is still assessing whether Hashem Safieddine was killed. An Israeli airstrike cut off a key road that thousands of Lebanese had been using to cross into relative safety in Syria. Israel's bombardment has displaced more than a million people, filling government shelters, and forcing others to sleep in the streets of Beirut. Iran’s supreme leader vowed his country and its allies would not back down after its "brilliant operation" against Israel...

The USA and France want a ceasefire — which is to say they want Israel to allow Hezb’allah to regroup and attack again. Reuters reports, “Israel rejects US-backed Lebanon ceasefire plan, hits Beirut again” and adds that France also supports a ceasefire. It is easily understandable, given that the last time France won a major war on its own was during Napoleon’s reign, that this country wants Israel to stop battering the same terrorists who murdered 53 French troops in 1983. French president Emmanuel Macron said of Benjamin Netanyahu, “It would be a mistake by the prime minister to refuse...

Two attempts on the life of a former president, less than two months apart, is unprecedented in American history. And yet it’s not entirely surprising given that the country’s most powerful institutions and industries have spent the last eight years weaponizing the most suggestible and mentally ill of our citizenry to target Donald Trump and his supporters. Now it seems the FBI may be recruiting from abroad as well. According to the Trump campaign, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence recently briefed the Republican candidate on “real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort...

During an interview with Nexstar Media’s Austin, TX NBC affiliate KXAN on Wednesday that was released on Thursday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that while Iran’s missile attack against Israel “is unacceptable.” He agrees with the United Nations “and others who are fighting for an immediate ceasefire. The last thing in the world this country needs is to see American troops getting engaged in another Middle East war.” And so, we have to make sure the war doesn’t expand. Sanders said, “The fear right now — obviously, what Iran did and all of those 180 missiles coming into Israel is...

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Tuesday claimed that Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel was self-defense. In a post on social media site X, Araqchi also said Iran would not attack Israel again, unless Israel “invites further retaliation”. “Earlier this evening, we exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting solely military and security sites in charge of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon,” claimed the Iranian Foreign Minister. “We did so after exercising tremendous restraint for almost two months, to give space for a ceasefire in Gaza,” he continued. Araqchi then warned, “Our action is concluded unless...

Iran warned Israel and the United States against any reaction to its massive missile strike against the Jewish State on Tuesday night. “Should the Zionist regime dare to respond or commit further acts of malevolence, a subsequent and crushing response will ensue,” Iran’s mission to the United Nations wrote in a post on X. Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out. CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour has sparked outrage as she insisted that Iran does not want conflict at the exact moment the nation was raining missiles on Israel. The British-Iranian journalist claimed live on air that the Islamic Republic does not want its conflict with Israel to 'escalate,' and suggested the Jewish state is to blame for Tuesday's attack. 'Nobody, nobody, not the Lebanese nor the Iranians want this to escalate even further. Iran does not want an Israeli or a U.S. war against it. It is unlikely to be able to resist that, it does not want it,' Amanpour told...

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Tuesday night local time that it would respond to the Iranian missile attack “in the place and in the time that we determine.” IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari addressed the nation in the immediate aftermath of an Iranian attack, the second since April. Iran reportedly fired 400 missiles, almost all of which were intercepted, with just a few missiles falling in Israel. Israelis across the entire country had been ordered into bomb shelters; shortly after Hagari’s briefing, the Home Front Command said that people could leave their shelters. Hagari said that there had...

During Sunday’s broadcast of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) voiced his disapproval of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership. Clyburn, a confidant of President Joe Biden, argued Netanyahu’s leadership had been bad for Israel. However, he would not go as far as to say Biden agreed with him about Netanyahu. “When it comes to Israel, should he stick with his position on Prime Minister Netanyahu or perhaps rethink that relationship?” “Face the Nation” host Robert Costa asked.

ROME — Pope Francis has called out Israel for what he sees as its “domineering tendency” in Lebanon and Gaza, insisting its response to attacks has been “disproportionate.” Over the weekend the pontiff returned to Rome from Belgium and aboard the flight was asked whether he thinks Israel “has perhaps gone too far” in its dealings with Lebanon and Gaza, specifically mentioning the force used in the targeted assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah. “The defense must always be proportionate to the attack,” he continued. “When there is something disproportionate, a dominating tendency that goes beyond morality is...

IDF invasion of southern Lebanon meets no Hezbollah resistance. By Yonah Jeremy Bob. 10/01/2024. The invasion is expected to end within weeks, and should consist of several short special forces missions into southern Lebanon. The IDF’s invasion into southern Lebanon which started Monday night just before 10:00 p.m. has met almost no resistance from Hezbollah, with not a single IDF soldier killed so far.
