Well, if anything can be learned from this year's elections is the GOPs 'prevent defense' in politics didn't work much better than your typical prevent defense in football. The GOP just laid back and waited for the game to come to them. And they lost. Go figure! Where they might have bundled election efforts and expanded the debate to challenge marginally held Dem seats (and cause some Dem efforts to defend those seats), the GOP focused on protecting a few chosen house seats based upon local issues and personalities.
