An Arizona state bill that would have required absentee ballots list more personal information failed in the Republican-controlled state House on Wednesday. Arizona state Senate Bill 1713 would have required absentee ballots to list a voter’s birthday, plus either the last four digits of their Social Security numbers, a state-issued identification number or a voter registration number, failed in the GOP-controlled Arizona House Wednesday night. PHOENIX - The Phoenix City Council has voted 5-4 to establish the Office of Accountability and Transparency, a board that would provide civilian oversight of police. "The OAT will have the ability to have independent investigations and will create greater transparency for the Phoenix Police Department," Vice Mayor Carlos Garcia said. BREAKING: Maricopa County Board of Supervises sets special executive meeting for TOMORROW afternoon to discuss settlement discussions (and litigation, etc) with State Senate President @FannKfann re: GOP's audit of November Presidential election. The meeting will begin at 2:00pm and will likely be mainly - or completely - behind closed doors. The previous cases filed - the first by Fann and then-Senator Eddie Farnsworth, and the second by the County - have both been dismissed. So, any litigation would likely be a new case filed by the County.

A 74-year old man was attacked and killed in a seemingly unprovoked fashion last month in Phoenix, Arizona, following a series of events in recent months in which Asian senior citizens have been attacked. The Phoenix Police are declining to describe the event as a hate crime, but accounts of Juanito Falcon’s death are reminiscent of so-called ‘knockout game’ incidents.

PHOENIX - A man is dead after being shot by a gas station clerk in Phoenix. Phoenix police say the shooting happened just after 11 p.m. on March 1 at a Chevron station near 44th Street and McDowell Road. Investigators say a man threatened to harm customers and when the clerk tried to intervene, the man armed himself with a baton and attacked the clerk who then shot him. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead. He was identified by police as 35-year old Andrew Agnew. The clerk stayed at the scene...
