Cockpit audio transmission can be heard at the link.
Pilot: "Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us," the pilot is heard saying in the recording. "I hate to say this, but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing - moving really fast right over the top of us.
"Following a debrief with our Flight Crew and additional information received, we can confirm this radio transmission was from American Airlines Flight 2292 on Feb. 21."
Multiple people in the cockpit allegedly saw this object. Are they seeing things which are not there? Their altitude was 37,000 feet. It seems pretty clear they were, "Regretfully" reporting this incident to Air Traffic Control.
I would have loved to have been in on that, "Debriefing". And why no mention of the passengers being interviewed? In an incident such as this, it would seem interviewing the passengers would be critical to any inquiry or investigation.
The passengers probably never got close enough to smell the pilot’s breath.
I think they were interviewed but for some reason their statements/comments were not revealed or made public.
Covid be darned. Time to re-implement real drug tests. Next you know, there will be flying pink elephants outside the cockpit.

I also noted they failed to indicate if the cylindrical object appeared 10 feet long or a 1000 feet long.
Sounds like it missed the “center fuel tank” on that plane.
Sounds a little far north to be something out of Bliss/White Sands. (It says “Northeast corner of New Mexico”) but a Dallas - Phoenix flight should get pretty close to Holloman/White Sands and not that far from Bliss (which is apparently home to a couple of Iron Dome batteries).
In other words, not a cruise missile, but sorta, kinda, a wee bit like a cruise missile, but unidentified.

What could they have seen? From a seat in the rear, you can only look out, but not forward or up (above theplane).

I would hope most every airline pilot would know about that concept aircraft. In addition, it looks like an aircraft..Wings, tail etc...

You know, there was a time, not too many years ago, when senior military/political people would avoid this subject like the plague.
Some of these reports I find real curious. Like this one. How can this be publicly reported, yet we only hear the recorded version of events from the cockpit? I would guess there were at least dozens of passengers on board, yet not a single public interview or comments from those passengers. I find this very odd.
If the UFO flew directly over them in the direction of their flight or head on the passengers would not see the UFO. If the UFO took such a flight path it was intentional. I hope it is "our guys."
