  • NYPD Officer Randolph Holder dies after being shot in the head by gunman in East Harlem

An NYPD housing officer was killed Tuesday night, shot in the head by a trigger-happy perp during a chase and gunfight on a pedestrian overpass above FDR Drive in East Harlem, police said. Officer Randolph Holder, 33, was shot in the forehead by the callous gunman, who had stolen a bike and was being pursued by cops along the promenade hugging the East River around 8:30 p.m., Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said. The brave officer died at 10:22 p.m. at Harlem Hospital. A suspect, shot in the legs, was arrested. Holder, who emigrated from Guyana, was a third-generation police officer,...
  • Mayor de Blasio a ‘no show’ at city honor for slain Patrolman Phillip Cardillo

COLLEGE POINT, Queens – 44-year-old Todd Cardillo flew up from Florida for a second, NYPD ceremony honoring his slain father this year — and, for a second time, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio did not attend an event designed to “right a wrong” from more than 43 years ago when former Mayor John Lindsey failed to attend the 1972 funeral for Patrolman Phillip Cardillo, who was fatally shot in a racially-charged incident at a Harlem mosque. Mayor de Blasio was traveling in Israel this past weekend, and when PIX11 asked Commissioner Bratton about the current mayor’s absence, Bratton...
  • Killing Cardillo: What Did The FBI Know And When Did They Know It?

Yesterday, the New York Post ran my investigative report on a very cold case: the mortal wounding of NYPD Patrolman Phillip Cardillo inside Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam Mosque #7 in Harlem in April, 1972. The “Harlem Mosque Incident” would become one of the most controversial cases in NYPD history—a tale of betrayal and cover-up, race and politics, played out across a disintegrating city. I’m grateful to the Post for getting behind a story that raises the disturbing possibility that the FBI was deeply involved in the events surrounding Cardillo’s death. Due to space limitations at the newspaper, some of...
  • Liberal Congressman Rangel Insists Protesters Never Chanted They Want “Dead Cops”

    – Then He’s Shown Video Of Them Saying It…New York Rep. Charles Rangel was on CNN this morning being interviewed by Ashleigh Banfield. During the otherwise fairly agreeable interview, Rangel insisted that protest chants calling for “dead cops” never happened, and he was shown proof otherwise After being shown evidence contrary to his claim, Rangel changed gears and said the behavior he denied existed was unacceptable saying they must be mentally ill
  • Rangel wants end to finger-pointing (“Policemen have to know that we love them”)

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday that political mudslinging had “no place” after the murder of two New York police officers. “Pointing fingers has no place at all with civilized people,” he said. It’s the second day on a row that Rangel has urged people to stop criticizing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and other politicians over the killings. In the hours after the murder, the head of the city's largest law enforcement union suggested that de Blasio had “blood” on his hands. Rangel also said that it was important that all New Yorkers communicate their respect for...

That stellar symbol of Chicago values, Rahm Emanuel, is working with Louis Farrakhan, purveyor of hatred and bigotry, on the Chicago crime wave. Meanwhile, Farrakhan is being allowed to block a Harlem memorial for murdered police officer, Phillip Cardillo. It was Farrakhan’s own people who killed the officer. …

Circle of Six: The True Story of New York's Most Notorious Cop-Killer and The Cop Who Risked Everything to Catch Him. http://www.amazon.com/Circle-Six-Notorious-Cop-Killer-Everything/dp/1932857397CIRCLE OF SIX The True Story of New York's Most Notorious Cop-Killer and the Cop Who Risked Everything to Catch Him In 1972, New York City was plagued with protests, riots, and general unrest. It was during this defining year that one of the Police Department's most scandalous cases occurred: the murder of Police Officer Phillip Cardillo. On Friday, April 14, 1972, the police were summoned to Mosque Number 7 in Harlem, led at the time by the Nation...
