Maybe we’re looking in the wrong direction on this whole NSA issue. I can’t help but think that for the Dems to go to such lengths, there has to be some campaign money in it for them. Just like they pander to the far left whackos I.E. Moveon.org, maybe they also have to protect themselves as well as pander to some of their big money supporters who may not want their overseas calls monitored by the Bush administration. This is just a first attempt to connect some dots, but it is interesting. Let’s start with Judge Robertson and the Clintons....

Prison breakBy Bruce Alpert and Bill Walsh Sunday, February 24, 2008 Vernon Jackson and Brett Pfeffer, key figures in the federal prosecution of Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, were released recently from federal prison -- but it was only temporary. Their release from federal prison facilities in Pennsylvania and West Virginia was ordered so that they could testify at Jefferson's federal corruption trial. But with the trial, which had been scheduled to begin Monday, postponed while a federal appellate court considers an appeal of a pretrial ruling, from Jefferson's attorneys, it's likely they will be returned to their prison cells...

Brett Pfeffer, a former legislative assistant to U. S. Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana, was sentenced May 27 by a judge in Alexandria to eight years in prison for conspiring to bribe the embattled Louisiana Democrat. U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III told Pfeffer that his sentence could be reduced significantly for cooperation with investigators. But, “it would be difficult to overstate the seriousness of this offense,” Ellis said at Pfeffer’s hearing. In January, Pfeffer, 37, pleaded guilty in Federal Court in Alexandria to conspiracy to commit bribery and aiding and abetting the solicitation of bribes by a member of...

With the stroke of a pen, City Councilor David Pfeffer switched sides Friday, leaving his Democratic Party colleagues behind and joining the GOP. "People tell me that, after about 30 years in Santa Fe, I must have seen a lot of changes. Well, I have," Pfeffer, reading from a prepared statement, said Friday during a press conference outside the Santa Fe County office building where he officially switched parties. "I've seen good folks go from acceptance of one's differences to intolerance; from respect to disdain; from peacefully getting along to outright hatred; from multicultural coexistence to profound elitism; from civilized...

WASHINGTON, DC – Santa Fe City Councilman David Pfeffer, a Democrat for Bush, today issued the following statement: “Democrats across New Mexico are supporting President Bush because of his clear agenda for a safer world and a more hopeful America. President Bush has nearly tripled the amount of homeland security funding since taking office and federal funding for state and local first responders is up 680 percent since 2001. John Kerry’s troubling pre-9/11 approach to the War on Terror stands in stark contrast to the President’s forward-looking strategy of bringing the fight to the enemy. New Mexico voters aren’t going...

SANTA FE, NM - Santa Fe City Councilor David Pfeffer issued the following statement regarding his decision to break party lines and support President George W. Bush for re-election: "We are at war. The attacks on September 11, the killing of innocent civilians, the vicious hatred of America by the perpetrators, the danger of nuclear weapons falling into the hands of those who would do us great harm given half the chance - all demonstrate how much is at stake. "We need a decisive leader - someone with a clear understanding of our enemies' intentions and with no illusions about...
