The Factor just received this statement from Noah Hoffenberg, the editorial page editor of the Bennington (VT) Banner: The right-wing blowhard Bill O'Reilly has called us again for the second time in so many weeks, asking the Banner to be on one of his shows. He wants us on the Factster show to talk about our editorial from Friday, which clearly states how Judge Edward Cashman's decision to incarcerate a sex offender for a mere 60 days was nothing more than a springboard for the far right to rant about the liberal crazies in Vermont. O'Reilly and his ilk are...

With all the problems the Bush administration is having in Iraq with surging oil prices and the media hammering the president 24/7 on just about everything, you would think liberalism would be getting some traction in North America. But apparently it's not. Polls show that Americans support conservative judge Samuel Alito for the Supreme Court by a wide margin, Canada just elected a conservative prime minister after 13 years of liberal rule, and the president's terror warrior poll numbers dwarf those of any Democrat, despite all the controversies over eavesdropping and interrogation. So what's going on? The answer to that...

Last year, I was privileged to work with Brian Maloney of The Radio Equalizer on an ongoing blog investigative series about beleaguered Air America radio's finances. Brian has continued to dig and dig deep on the story. He has a new report here and will discuss it tonight on The O'Reilly Factor. Brian asks: "Did Al Franken's outrageous salary demands hamper Air America's ability to repay the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in 2005?" Excerpt: During the same mid-to-late 2004 period when Air America parent Piquant LLC was quietly considering how to resolve the still-undisclosed scandal, Franken was demanding...

Did anyone see Carville and Begala on The O'Blowhard Factor tonight? Carville and Begala looked to be playing nice with Bill just sell their new book. (I think it's called "Take It Back") Otherwise, O'Reilly spanked them when he called them out on several tactics the Dems use, such as Bush bashing and rehashing the past saying that only forward thinking and ideas would work for the Democrats if they want to get back in power. Also Bill said their book was heavily foot-noted with extreme leftists and these are exactly the types of people who will keep the Dems...

OTTAWA, November 18, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission announced approval of the conservative-leaning Fox News for Canadian viewers Thursday. Globe and Mail columnist James Adams described Fox News as "the Canada-baiting house organ of the U.S. right," and "the unofficial official voice of the Bush administration." Adams decried Fox's commentator Bill O'Reilly for his condemnation of Canada's Globe and Mail as "a far-left newspaper."

When Matt Lauer began peppering Bill O'Reilly with rapid-fire questions on this morning's Today show, the prime-time host complained "you're going so fast - it's 7:10 in the morning!" Judging by his sub-par performance, O'Reilly wasn't kidding. Oh, to be sure, in his very first sentence the No-Spin Zone-ster called the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee "pinheads." But is that much more than middle-school machismo? When it got to the substance of the Alito hearings, O'Reilly's fastball had no bite. Said BOR in criticizing the Dems' performance "you don't go to his college club, and say look at this...

House Democrats proposed two bills in 2005 to bring the Fairness Doctrine back—and as a law, rather than a mere agency regulation. New York Democratic representative Louise Slaughter, who introduced the first of the two bills, says that Right-ruled radio is a grave threat to American freedoms, “a waste of good broadcast time, and a waste of our airwaves.” People “may hear whatever they please and whatever they choose,” she tells PBS’s Bill Moyers, in a statement as incoherent as it is illiberal. “And of course they have the right to turn it off. But that’s not good enough either....

From the Billings Outpost, here's an Al Franken quote to quite possibly top them all: Quote of the week “Right now, money is being stolen, and that is killing our soldiers. That makes me furious. I’m very sad about where my country is going, and I love my country.” - Author/comedian Al Franken, talking about the Iraqi Coalition Provisional Authority in a live Air America radio program broadcast last Friday in Missoula. Quote of the week? How about year, at least? ..............................snip...................

Love him or not, viewers will have the chance to debate Bill O'Reilly on his Fox News Channel talk show, "The O'Reilly Factor," next month. O'Reilly has announced the Great Factor Debate Contest, in which six winners will face off with the outspoken TV commentator on a topic of their choice. "You want a piece of me?" O'Reilly said Monday. "Would you like to sit on this set right here and let me have it? Of course you would. Well, now that can happen." He warned viewers to "be careful what you wish for." Applicants can enter by e-mailing OReillyContest"at"foxnews.com....

He spent the next several years obsequiously begging for forgiveness from Oprah for such an embarrassingly awkward ridicule of her name. When the billionaire queen of daytime talk shows ultimately deigned to appear on his program about a month ago (She was promoting the Broadway premiere of The Color Purple, a musical she co-produced), Letterman behaved like a drooling lapdog, gratefully licking his mistress’s boots for the bone that was tossed at him.

Of course David Letterman is a liberal. Many people are outraged by the sanctimonious criticism of Bill O’Reilly by David Letterman after O’Reilly’s recent guest appearance. However, what is more outrageous is how so many people are just realizing that David Letterman is a liberal. Why would anyone think otherwise? Does anyone recall Limbaugh’s appearance with Letterman in 1993? He was just as critical of Limbaugh then as he was ten years later when Limbaugh’s addiction was made public. What should anyone expect of a multimillionaire entertainer who lives in New York City? Of course he is going to be...

The Letterman Meltdown CBS's Late Show host David Letterman is supposed to be funny. He makes more than $20 million a year because he is funny. His Top Ten List is a brand unto itself. He was endearing when he did bits like his old Stupid Pet Tricks. I laughed when he ribbed Oprah and Uma. But on Tuesday night's show, he acquitted himself as just another unhinged member of the liberal entertainment mafia when he interviewed Fox New Channel's Bill O'Reilly. Even before O'Reilly walked on stage, Letterman acted like a spoiled brat when he used a pencil to...

After reading and seeing David Letterman's extended moonbattery in "interviewing" Bill O'Reilly the other night, I am interested in learning who Letterman's show's sponsors are. Anyone have a link to a listing? I've not watched Letterman since the early 1990s, so I can't say, with any sincerity, that I'm going to STOP watching him. Nor am I going to "boycott" firmly anything sold by his sponsors. But I would like to know who those sponsors are. That information may come in handy when I have "close call" consumer choices between a sponsor's goods/services, and a NON-sponsor's equally good offerings.

David Letterman has ruled late night television in nearly every dorm hall in America. He has his shtick down cold and does what he does exceedingly well. Beneath the goofy exterior lies a mind like a steel trap. Thus, it was far from accidental that Mr. Letterman chose Bill O’ Reilly to ambush over The War in Iraq. Letterman made no pretense in understanding all the complex issues. He decided he was against continuing the fight and decided further that he would use his show as a bully pulpit to further the cause. In undertaking this task, he showed great...

With all the hoopla about David Letterman's snarliness last night when interviewing Bill O'Reilly, one thing got lost in the shuffle that really bugs me. It was David Letterman making a big show of swirling his pencil all around O'Reilly's mug on his desk just before O'Reilly came on stage and then, bowing to his baser instincts, that CRETIN Letterman finally dipping his pencil into the mug and swirling it around. Since O'Reilly was still offstage he couldn't know what Letterman did. I didn't notice it before because I was concentrating on the interview itself but if you go to...

Letterman to O'Reilly: 'I'm Not Smart Enough' to Debate War --It didn't take long for fireworks to erupt last night when Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly guested on David Letterman's "CBS Late Show," with the late night host finally admitting he wasn't "smart enough" to engage in a debate over the Iraq war. The verbal fisticuffs began when Letterman asked if O'Reilly had a good holiday. O'Reilly responded: "I had a nice Winter Solstice," prompting a contentious exchange over whether Christmas traditions were indeed under attack. But the confrontation really heated up when Letterman suggested, "Let's talk about your friends...

To be fair, I haven't watched the David Letterman show in years. Also, Bill O'Reilly doesn't need me to watch his back. But the following exchange from January 3rd's "Late Night with David Letterman" proves once again that some people should just stick to what they're good at....
