No, not that he's a liberal, but that he is a major league "rectum opening." I rarely watch his show but stayed up late last night because I knew that Bill O'Reilly would be on. From the moment O'Reilly was introduced, Letterman acted like a jerk. First, he belittled O'Reilly for taking on the "anti-Merry Christmas" crowd. Then he came down hard on Bill for having the audacity to criticize Cindy Sheehan. He closed by telling O'Reilly that "I believe that 60% of what you say is crap." Bill asked him if he watches the show. Letterman replied that he...

Displaying a hostility to President Bush and the Iraq war similar to that expressed by Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart, on tonight’s Late Show David Letterman will go further than I’ve ever heard him in revealing his derision for President Bush’s decision to launch the Iraq war. I know this thanks to the “Big Show Highlight," a two-minute streaming-only RealPlayer preview of tonight’s program, which is now featured on the Late Show’s home page. In the posted clip, Letterman mockingly tells guest Bill O’Reilly: "The President himself, less than a month ago said we are there because of a mistake made...

Showdown Time for the Bush Haters Tuesday, January 03, 2006 By Bill O'Reilly Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly. Thanks for watching us tonight and happy new year from everybody here at “The Factor”. We wish you happiness, good health, and prosperity. Well, it is showdown time for the Bush haters — that's the subject of the year's first "Talking Points Memo". As you may know, President Bush is taking a more aggressive posture towards critics of his administration. And they are legion in the media. My column posted on billoreilly.com pinpoints the problem. Some media are no longer just scrutinizing the...

TV Newser crunches a bunch of year-end cable news numbers for us. Of note: O'Reilly led the pack, with the most viewers overall and among the 25-54s. In fact, Fox News had 11 of the top 12 shows in 2005. Only CNN's Larry King Live busts in, at #6. This is the fourth year in a row at the top for Fox News. Bill O'Reilly is the king of cable news again this year. He's #1 on the 2005 weekday program ranker, followed by H&C, Greta, Shep and Hume. The "Competitive Program Analysis" shows CNN's Larry King at #6. The...

For at least the third time, The O'Reilly factor is repeating his interview with Howard Stern. Is O'Really fishing for a contract with Sirius satellite? Or is this strictly an attempt to boost ratings? What say you? And please be pithy. Also no bloviating, that's my job.

Last year’s big holiday debate was whether the Jews had ruined Christmas. This year, with erev Chanukah coinciding with Christmas Day, people have begun asking how we can save it. The Wall Street Journal reports that retailers hope an unusually late Chanukah can boost holiday sales and bail out underperforming retailers. If higher sales mean more yuletide cheer for our Christian neighbors, it’s the least we can do. Not that Bill O’Reilly and the Catholic League and a bunch of others are exactly blaming Jews when they complain that a secular, politically correct “elite” is preventing store clerks from chiming...

Anti-Christmas votes Last week, the House of Representatives passed a resolution to protect the symbols and traditions of Christmas. The vote was 401-22 in favor of the resolution (5 voted "present"); below are the representatives that voted "nay." Did anyone catch Bill O'Reilly last night? He put on two legal "experts" to discuss the warrentless wiretaps ordered by President Bush. One of the experts was Turley. Turley stated President Bush committed an illegal act that could be an impeachable offense. I am not worried about that. I do want to comment though about his statement and 50 USC Section 1802. How come nobody in the media has brought this up yet? I remember Turley always being hard on Clinton during the Impeachment and now he seems to always down on President Bush. What is his problem? Have this...

Confederate flags - which are as likely to be found at a Skynyrd concert as is a Christmas tree at Bill O'Reilly's house - went flying as the band rocked a near-full arena in a modified stage setup that used about three-fourths of the usual concert space.

In his demand for religiously-correct language this Christmas season, loudmouth Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly blurted out one of his silliest, most uninformed opinions yet. His sham slam on the Madison media -- of which the Wisconsin State Journal is the leading force -- went like this: "Now this is a conservative city, Richmond," O'Reilly said last week, referring to a Virginia newspaper that had criticized him. "I mean, this is not Madison, Wisconsin, where you expect those people to be communing with Satan up there in the Madison, Wisconsin media." As a matter of fact, it's much too cold...

Nicholas Kristof/Bill O'Reilly Feud Heats Up By E&P Staf Published: December 18, 2005 11:45 AM ET It all started exactly one week ago when New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, taking note of Bill O'Reilly's focus on keeping the Christmas in Christmas, suggested that the Fox personality might honor the season better by exposing the continuing genocide in Darfur, which the TV host has allegedly "ignored." O'Reilly responded by denouncing Kristof as a "left-wing ideologue." Today, in his column, Kristof replied in kind, while disclosing that he puts up a "Christmas" tree himself, not a "holiday" tree. "Perhaps I'm particularly...

by Mark Finkelstein December 18, 2005 - 11:12. When the panel discussion on this morning's ABC's 'This Week' turned to the 'War on Christmas,' Sam Donaldson had this to say [close approximation]: "With his talk of a war on Christmas, Bill O'Reilly stirs up his yahoos." Donaldson then paused and added "in his audience." However you slice it, Donaldson managed to slur both O'Reilly and a good chunk of his viewership. Valid observation, or the take of a bitter, jealous man who used to be a significant media fixture?

The Plano school district is fighting back against national television and radio talk show host Bill O'Reilly, saying he falsely accused a school of outlawing the colors of Christmas. Mr. O'Reilly told his television audience Friday that a Plano school told students they could not wear red and green because they are Christmas colors. "That's flat-out fascism," he said during a segment on The O'Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel. School district officials say Plano schools have never prohibited green and red clothing and are demanding a retraction. The issue of how to handle the holidays at school has...

O'REILLY: It's my thesis that the American people don't know the danger, don't realize the danger because the American media underplays it all the time. Am I wrong? SHOEBAT: Absolutely. You're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. The media -- I don't see anything in the media. I stopped watching the media. The media is the streets of what's happening over in the West Bank. Can I go to Ramallah, stand in the street corner, and have a pamphlet saying suicide bombing is wrong. I will be executed within seconds. They don't show in the media the killings galore that happens...

Classic example of why O'Reilly is no Conservative. Just saw O'Reilly agreeing with Michela Alioto that cops were out of hand. Sexist, Racist AND HOMOPHOBIC.

No, Virginia, There Is No More Christmas December 1, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, well. It was great while it lasted. Who will forget the joys of decorating the tree, downing the eggnog, opening Christmas cards, singing carols, putting milk and cookies out for Santa, opening presents on Christmas morning, and joining family and friends for Christmas dinner? Too bad it’s gone forever. Haven’t you heard? If you believe Fox News, this is the last Christmas we’ll ever enjoy. We’ll be lucky even to celebrate this one. Because, according to Faux News, Christmas is under attack. There’s a war on Christmas. For...
