Leftist activists have already been pushing Mastercard, Visa, and others to expand their ban beyond illegal activities, with the eventual goal of demonetarizing opposing political views.Last week, Mastercard, Inc., announced new rules for banks processing credit card payments to pornography websites, designed to combat child pornography and sex trafficking. Unfortunately, for a country whose corporate overlords refuse (or are unable) to distinguish between intrinsic evil and prudential policy judgments, this promising development will likely also serve as a beta test to further attack conservative groups. In December, Mastercard and Visa banned the use of their credit cards on the Pornhub website...

For the past two days, I have been unable to sign on. When I try to do so, I get a display :we are experiencing technical difficulties with online banking..." I have entered my password by copying and pasting. In addition, I have deliberately entered a wrong password, and doing so gives me a different error message. In other words, the above issue is not password-based. Is anyone else having this problem?

SNIPPET: "Thousands of online banking customers have had their accounts drained by a sophisticated new computer virus, internet security experts say. Around £675,000 was taken from a "large UK financial institution" over the last month with 3,000 customers hit - and the attacks are ongoing. Online security firm M86 Security Labs said the customers were infected with a Trojan virus - which cannot be detected by traditional anti-virus software - while browsing the internet. The Trojan, known as a Zeus v3, copies the passwords and usernames of customers' online details and transfers their funds to a different account. It then...

Cyber criminals have created a highly sophisticated Trojan virus that steals online banking log-in details from infected computers. The Clampi virus, which is spreading rapidly across hundreds of thousands of computers in Britain and the United States, infects computers when users visit websites that host a malicious code. Once on the computer, the virus sits unnoticed until the user logs on to bank, credit card or other financial websites. It then captures log-in and password information and sends it to a server run by the attackers. They can then tell the compromised computer to send money to accounts that they...

On line banking advice needed. I am often amazed at the diverse knowledge of the FReeper community. I need some FReeper advice about on-line banking. For the last few years I have done most of our banking through an on-line bank called Everbank and have been very satified with it. What I particularly like is the way the website shows "scheduled transactons" (for the upcoming 30 days) in the same window as the cleared or pending transactions. This allows me to easily see the effects of a particular scheduled payment and decide if I want to re-arrange the date or...

Hackers on Tuesday hijacked the Web site CheckFree.com, one of the largest online bill payment companies, redirecting an unknown number of visitors to a Web address that tried to install malicious software on visitors' computers, the company said today. The attack, first reported by The Register, a security news Web site, began in the early morning hours of Dec. 2, when Checkfree's home page and the customer login page were redirected to a server in the Ukraine. CheckFree spokeswoman Melanie Tolley said users who visited the sites during the attack would have been redirected to a blank page that tried...

Cases of online investment account hacking are on the rise. All it takes is a few keystrokes to wipe out an online investment account, and victims often have little or no recourse. Now the government agency that oversees brokerages is warning investors to protect themselves. Just imagine saving your whole life for retirement only to have it vanish. Online investment accounts are the new target of choice for some criminals who wipe out entire accounts sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars with just a few clicks. Bob Sullivan from msnbc.com says the perps are getting smarter, "Criminals have upped the...
