I saw a woman on TikTok say she can stump almost any man with one specific question. The question was “Name three women who you are not related to who you admire and want to be more like.” I immediately saw her point. Misogyny generally blinds most men from seeing women as people they want to admire and, critically, to be like. So much of masculinity is about making sure we are not like women. We may love women, but we are taught to aspire to be like successful men. The qualities that most men respect in women are not...

Long before the Nov. 19 shooting at an LGBTQ+ bar in Colorado Springs that killed five and injured at least 18, the city had a history as a flashpoint in American queer life. Located in the traditionally red El Paso County—home to three out of five military commands in the county, and a region former President Donald Trump won with 56.2% of the vote in 2016—Colorado Springs is home to many conservative evangelical groups including, notably, Focus on the Family. In the early 1990s, a time when gay rights were the subject of increasing restriction in many places across the...

I’ve been warning for days that the Club Q shooting may not be what it seems. Many on the left quickly jumped to the conclusion that this was a targeted attack on the LGBTQ committee — what they would call a “hate crime” — for which Republicans bore responsibility because of their opposition to the “Respect for Marriage Act” that would codify gay marriage in federal law.Well, it turns out that the shooter is a part of the LGBTQ community.According to court filings, the suspect is identified as “Mx. Anderson Aldrich,” identifies as non-binary, and uses they/them pronouns. In new court...

Colorado gay club shooter Anderson Lee Aldrich previously changed their name and now identifies as non-binary, using they/them pronouns. Aldrich, 22, is suspected of murdering five people and injuring others at Club Q on Saturday - meanwhile, it was revealed that their dad is a porn star who goes by the name 'Dick Delaware.' The suspect's original name is Nicholas Franklin Brink. They changed it to Anderson Lee Aldrich in 2016 in a petition signed by their mother, biological grandmother and step-grandfather. In a court filing, Aldrich's public defenders said that their client is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, referring...

Tucker Carlson was among the conservative media figures that continued attacking LGBTQ people in the wake of the Club Q shooting. Some right-wing media figures and influencers have doubled down on the use of inflammatory rhetoric against the LGBTQ community in the wake of Saturday night’s shooting at a Colorado gay club that killed five. The rhetoric mirrors what LGBTQ advocates have warned about for months, most notably false claims that children are being sexualized or “groomed” by LGBTQ people and events. The Colorado shooter’s motive is unknown, but the primary suspect Anderson Lee Aldrich is facing five counts of...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The alleged shooter facing possible hate crime charges in the fatal shooting of five people at a Colorado Springs gay nightclub is nonbinary, the suspect’s defense team says in court filings. In several standard motions filed on behalf of Anderson Lee Aldrich on Tuesday, public defenders refer to the suspect as “Mx. Aldrich,” noting in footnotes that Aldrich, 22, is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. The motions deal with issues like unsealing documents and evidence gathering, not Aldrich’s identity and there was no elaboration about it.

The horrific shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs that left five people dead and many more injured was stopped by a couple of heroes at the venue. But as we’ve gotten used to, there were ghouls attempting to score political points before all the facts were known. Enter NBC News “dystopia beat” reporter Ben Collins, who seemingly had it all figured out: I talked this morning about an inflection point in this country right now, specifically for reporters: What are you more afraid of? Being on Breitbart for saying that trans people deserve to be alive? Or are you...

The camp’s director said misinformation about his counselors and transphobia led to the Culver School District pulling its students Outdoor School is a rite of passage for many Oregon students, when pre-teen students across the state spend multiple days in the wilderness learning about the outdoors. Have you heard the story about Enoch Burke? An innocent schoolteacher, fighting the good fight against the woke liberal agenda. Jailed for his refusal to kowtow to the demands of the left-wing mob. Jailed for his religious beliefs. You can’t say anything any more, can you? It won’t just be cancellation on Twitter, now you’ll be thrown in Mountjoy for daring to say sex is real. That’s not the real story, of course. Burke, an evangelical Christian, was suspended from Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath last month arising from his opposition to addressing a transgender child in the school by...

Fifth-grade girls who attended a science camp organized by the Los Alamitos Unified School District in California stayed in cabins with men who “identify” as non-binary — or not accepting their biological sex. The parents learned from their daughters that the male counselors used “they/them” pronouns and stayed with them in their cabins for three nights at Camp Pali. The Los Angeles-based KTLA reported on the incident: “Per California law, we place staff in cabins they identify with,” Emmi Teige, assistant director of Camp Pali, confirmed. “I contacted the school and asked them if they were about to confirm that...

Adele took home three awards at the BRITs at the O2 Arena on Tuesday, including the first ever genderless Artist Of The Year gong after the male and female categories were scrapped. The Easy On Me singer, 33, who also won the award for Song Of The Year and the coveted Album Of The Year, hit back at the 'woke' ceremony as she insisted she 'loves being a female artist', after bosses bowed to calls to rid the awards of gendered categories. Adele also tearfully dedicated her Album Of The Year award for '30' to her son Angelo, nine, and...

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) signed an executive order on Monday halting the state from issuing nonbinary birth certificates. The order mandates the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to “cease amending birth certificates” in any way that is inconsistent with state law, and to “remove from its website any reference to amending birth certificates” that doesn’t align with state law. Stitt further urged the Oklahoma state legislature to “immediately pass legislation that will clarify, to the extent necessary, that changes in sex or gender on a birth certificate, or a designation of non-binary is contrary to Oklahoma law.”

This is an excerpt from The Natural Mother of the Child: A Memoir of Nonbinary Parenthood, in which nonbinary transmasculine author Krys Malcolm Belc explores how the experience of gestational parenthood—conceiving, birthing, and breastfeeding his son Samson—eventually clarified his gender identity. In this excerpt, Belc writes to his partner Anna about raising their three young children. … There are things I miss. Before Michigan, before testosterone, sometimes people in Philadelphia would look at me and Samson and know he was mine, think I made him, and they would call him beautiful. No one says that anymore; now they say You’re...
