COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The alleged shooter facing possible hate crime charges in the fatal shooting of five people at a Colorado Springs gay nightclub is nonbinary, the suspect’s defense team says in court filings.
In several standard motions filed on behalf of Anderson Lee Aldrich on Tuesday, public defenders refer to the suspect as “Mx. Aldrich,” noting in footnotes that Aldrich, 22, is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. The motions deal with issues like unsealing documents and evidence gathering, not Aldrich’s identity and there was no elaboration about it.

I don’t even know what nonbinary means. Is he straight, gay, or bi? These woke folks have me all confused.
It means they consider themselves genderless.
There is perhaps the possibility that this was concocted to deflect hate crime charges or otherwise lay groundwork for some sort of defense.
So it appears we have a situation where, if the perp had been treated for the mental illness that this “nonbinary identifying” stuff is, many innocent people would be alive today.
At least he wasn’t nonbindary. Then he’d be loose and all over the place.
OK??? I guess it’s still a hate crime because he hates himself. Then again, I guess this “nonbinary” declaration goes a long way towards an insanity defense.

Perp uses pleural pronouns to describe his singular self. Can’t be a hate crime.

It appears that when he changed his name in 2016 he also referred to himself as nonbinary

He may consider himself genderless, but he still has a sex, male or female. For someone to say they they are non-binary means that they are admitting they have mental problems.
When it comes down to it, this She/He/IT is a fruitcake that killed and maimed a bunch of other fruitcakes.
The attorneys are claiming that the shooter is a a nonbinary Mormon? It looks like the lawyers pulled that defense out of a hat.
“Non-Binary” can mean a number of things. It can mean “gender fluid” (no fixed gender), a gender not covered by make or female, or even an assertion that the term gender itself is oppressive, and that the a gender construct is inapplicable.
Possibly more than one personality in there. Almost bet on it.
