White House hopeful Mitt Romney widened his lead over rival Newt Gingrich to 11 percentage points in Florida, according to Reuters/Ipsos online poll results on Saturday, up from 8 points a day earlier, as he cemented his front-runner status in the Republican nomination race. With just three days remaining before Florida's Republican primary, Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, led Gingrich, a former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, by 43 percent to 32 percent among likely voters in Florida's January 31 primary, the online poll said.

On Saturday night’s “Justice with Jeanine” on the Fox News Channel, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin once again stopped just short of giving former House Speaker Newt Gingrich her outright endorsement for the Republican nomination. In her appearance, she explained that despite criticisms of Gingrich’s long career in Washington, D.C., she doesn’t consider him part of the establishment because that same “establishment” is trying to hard to keep him from becoming the nominee.

WEST PALM BEACH — Herman Cain will be a surprise guest at tonight’s Lincoln Day Dinner at the Kravis Center to endorse Newt Gingrich, the Palm Beach Post has confirmed. With the January 31st primary just a few days away, the time for early voting ended Saturday. In Broward County, the turnout has been light, but slowly picked up throughout the week. As of Saturday morning, 7,785 early votes had been cast in Broward County. The majority of the early votes came at the Northwest & Southwest Regional Libraries.

This is nothing new, as campaigns have been paying people to become active for years now. And it is not illegal, as far as I know. There's nothing wrong with paying someone to help spread a message. However, it does show the limited motivations within the Romney campaign. There is not much grassroots here in South Florida if people have to be paid to get out and spread a critical message about the future of this country.
