Once more, families gathered at ground zero, where nearly 3,000 people died on that bright September morning. Once more, there was an outpouring of grief. Once more, there was the sound of a bell tolling in mourning. And there was the rhythm of names being recited. Eighteen years have passed since terrorists commandeered airplanes and the twin towers of the World Trade Center were brought down. The commemoration at ground zero — by now an annual rite of remembrance that follows a familiar, somber script — began with an honor guard carrying the flag. SNIP

WARSAW, Poland - The president of the Polish bishops’ conference cautioned Polish and Hungarian political leaders against fostering nationalism and xenophobia as both countries face European Union sanctions over their alleged authoritarian direction. Archbishop Stanislaw Gadecki of Poznan acknowledged that patriotism “characterizes our nations and is a great value,” but urged vigilance so that patriotic values do not “give rise to … contempt for others.” “Given our common history, we should strive to be linked not just by a shared past, but also by a shared future,” Gadecki said in his homily March 23 at a Mass for Polish-Hungarian Friendship...

Open-borders radicals, jihadists win another round in federal court After a lawless Obama-appointed judge in Hawaii issued a temporary restraining order Wednesday against Executive Order 13780, the second iteration of President Trump’s temporary travel ban, a second lawless Obama-appointed judge in Maryland did the same thing the next day. This is the moment where hate speech laws become a greater threat to democracy and freedom of speech than hate speech itself. In France, Muslim terrorists are never Muslim terrorists, but "lunatics," "maniacs" and "youths". To attack freedom of the press and freedom of speech is not anti-hate speech; it is submission. By following these recommendations, the British government would place Muslim organizations in a kind of monopoly position: they would become the only source of information about themselves. It is the perfect totalitarian information order.
