A man has attacked a number of people with a knife at a market square in the south-west German city of Mannheim, police say. A protester was led out of Wednesday evening’s Bakersfield City Council meeting after telling the council “we’ll see you at your house, we’ll murder you” during public comments. An Orthodox Jewish man was stabbed multiple times in Zurich on Saturday evening by a knifeman who reportedly shouted out “death to all Jews” and “Allahu Akbar” during the attack. A 50-year-old man of Orthodox Jewish faith was left with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed multiple times in Switzerland’s largest city at the Brandschenkestrasse/Selnaustrasse junction in Zurich District 2. Labour says it has “withdrawn support” for Rochdale by-election candidate Azhar Ali after his comments on Israel. The BBC understands Mr Ali has been suspended from Labour pending an investigation.
