When President Joe Biden met with a group of Muslim community leaders this week, he recounted a recent conversation he had with first lady Jill Biden relating to the conflict in Gaza. One of the attendees told the president that the decision to participate in the gathering had been a cause of concern for his wife, given the fierce backlash Joe Biden has drawn for his handling of the Israel-Hamas war, according to two attendees present at the meeting. Those attendees tell CNN that Biden brought up his own wife and closest confidant. “It’s got to stop,” he recounted the...

FBI declassified a 1999 video of Saudi intelligence agent Omar al-Bayoumi casing the Capitol and other Washington D.C. sites for the 9/11 attack. How, then, did the CIA-FBI 9/11 report conclude in 2005 that Saudi Arabia was not involved in the attack? And why did the FBI maintain — for 20 years, before its recent retraction — that al-Bayoumi wasn’t a Saudi agent? Such willful deception, practiced increasingly by American intelligence, is the subject of former CIA agent J. Michael Waller’s new book Big Intel: How the CIA and FBI Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains ......

I write this because, ten years ago, I could go out with my friends in the evening, at any hour, without being bothered, insulted, followed, or stabbed. I mention stabbing because, three years ago, my boyfriend, along with two of his friends, on their way home, were approached...

In a June 21, 2024 Friday sermon at Lafayette, Louisiana, the imam said in his supplication: "Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews and the Chris… Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews and their helpers. […] kill them one by one and do not spare a single one of them." The sermon was streamed live on the Facebook page of the Islamic Center of Lafayette, which gave no indication as to the identity of the imam. However, online research suggests that the imam was Mohamad El-Saleh, whom according to news reports, represented the Islamic Center at a November 7, 2023 interfaith prayer for...

The writer is a research fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School Middle East Initiative and is an expert on Israel-US relations, the Middle East, and world Jewry. The Hamas attack on October 7 could’ve been another 9/11 moment for Arabs and Muslims in America, which brought a rise in Islamophobia with death threats and harassment towards Muslims following the attacks. But contrary to intuition, one of the worst-ever attacks executed by an extreme Islamist terrorist group has not brought an extreme rise in Islamophobia but rather a surge in pride, acceptance, and public visibility for one of the fastest-growing demographics...

As of last month, the global Muslim population achieved a remarkable milestone with over 2 billion adherents. This achievement bears great significance for both Arabs and Arab Americans. By exemplifying the expansion and impact of Islam and its cultural significance on a global scale. Approximately one-fourth of the world’s population consists of Muslims. As their numbers continue to rise, there is a greater acknowledgment and acceptance of Islam and its followers. This potentially fosters understanding and collaboration among diverse religious groups and ethnically diverse demographics. The Muslim population is rapidly growing due to Islam’s status as the world’s fastest-growing religion....

ROME — Pope Francis asserted this week Christians, Jews and Muslims, all worship the one God and are “brothers and sisters.” “Jesus taught us to welcome one another as brothers and sisters,” the pontiff told a delegation from the Bologna Mosque in northern Italy. “And this is true first of all for us, Christians, Jews, and Muslims, who worship the One God.” Members of all three faiths refer to Abraham as “our father in faith,” he said, “albeit in different ways.” “In today’s world, our witness of fraternity is indispensable and very precious,” he added. Sincere and respectful dialogue between...

President Vladimir Putin says Russia's war in Ukraine is part of an existential struggle with the West that demands total focus — but deadly shootings in Dagestan show that militant Islam is a rising threat that may force him to redirect some of his resources. The latest violence, in which at least 20 people were killed on Sunday evening in a series of apparently coordinated shootings in Russia's far south, raises awkward questions for its intelligence and security services. They appear to have been caught off guard at a time when much of their attention is focused on Ukraine and...

Sunday’s terrorist attacks in Dagestan that left at least 19 people dead have highlighted Russia’s growing difficulties in managing a tide of Islamist terror at home as its security forces are engaged in the war in Ukraine. The attacks, carried out by four gunmen in Dagestan’s capital, Makhachkala, and two in the seaside city of Derbent, appeared to catch Dagestani officials by surprise. At least 15 police officers were among those killed, and the attackers also burned down a synagogue and set fire to a church in acts that Russian officials are clearly concerned could lead to a tide of...

A 20-year-old woman in Hamburg, Germany, has been sent to prison after making “hateful” remarks towards a migrant who was involved in the gang rape of a child. The woman is just one of 140 people being investigated for making “harmful comments” towards the rapists. The horrific assault took place in 2020, and involved multiple groups of migrant men independently attacking a 14-year-old girl in Hamburg’s Stadtpark over the course of one night. The park had become a popular hang-out spot for youth during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and the girl had been there drinking with her friends. But they became...

Attacks in Russia's Muslim majority republic of Dagestan are the latest strikes in the country linked to Islamic State. One security analyst told Newsweek that the Kremlin's focus on Ukraine rather than the threat of terrorism means more such incidents are guaranteed. Russia's authorities announced a counterterrorism operation after men opened fire on Russian Orthodox churches and a synagogue in the coastal city of Derbent at around 6 p.m. Sunday. Within the same hour, another group opened fire on a traffic police post in the republic's capital of Makhachkala, about 80 miles north. "Putin's quickly losing control of the country,"...

Commenters on the twisted Haaretz stating IDF doesn't rape Arab women because of racism." (Just like the usual fake racism terminology by Haaretz - while justifying routinely racist Arab attacks - Haaretzism).(Translated from now14): There is a competition on the left who can say the most delusional statement. They have an iron dome of the media. _ There should be a demonstration in Kaplan [i.e. the center for leftists protesters] for the underprivileged Muslims, with huge signs that will read "We demand pluralistic equality, kidnapping, abuse and rape without discrimination"!!! _ Naama Riba says that whoever is not a racist...
