Thousands of bikers heading to South Dakota’s 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will not be allowed through Cheyenne River Sioux checkpoints, a spokesman for the Native American group said on Saturday. The decision to prevent access across tribal lands to the annual rally, which could attract as many as 250,000 bikers amid fears it could lead to a massive, regional coronavirus outbreak, comes as part of larger Covid-19 prevention policy. The policy has pitted seven tribes that make up the Great Sioux Nation against federal and state authorities, which both claim the checkpoints are illegal.

Motorcycle accidents ruled Covid deaths? In the rush to paint Florida as the epicenter of the “second wave” of the coronavirus outbreak, government officials and their allies in the mainstream media have stooped to ridiculous depths to maximize the death count. A television station this weekend looked into two highly unusual Covid deaths among victims in their 20s, and when they asked about co-morbidities they were told one victim had none, because his Covid death came in the form of a fatal motorcycle accident. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. In fact the “spike” that has dominated the mainstream...

They eventually tracked down motorcyclist Thomas Ettridge and his head-mounted GoPro camera. Police seized his footage, which contained a number of potentially “shocking” disastrous motorcycle stunts, Sussex police said in a written statement. These included one of the motorcyclists popping a wheelie at nearly 130 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

Harley-Davidson hasn’t been shy when it comes to talking about its ambitious electric bicycle goals. In fact, Harley-Davidson electric bicycles are a big part of the More Roads to Harley Davidson plan. But what H-D hasn’t done is show off its electric bicycles in public. Instead, they’ve only shown us renderings and pictures. Until today that is, when Harley-Davidson included the first three H-D electric bicycle prototypes in its sprawling display at the EICMA 2019 Milan Motorcycle Show. The three electric bicycles were front and center at the vast H-D booth, though they were surrounded by a glass barrier to...

A 25-mile commute through Russian traffic and a powerful two-wheeled samurai sword, and you get a video showing the "quick" way to work. Sometimes this two-wheeler even becomes a one-wheeler as rare empty stretches of road disappear when the nose goes skyward.

While electric motorcycles have been in development for the past decade or so, the industry is currently at its apex. From juggernauts like Arc and...

Peter Fonda as Wyatt (aka Captain America) in 1969's 'Easy Rider.' =============================================================== Fifty years later, the filmmaker and those involved and close to the groundbreaking biker movie (and soundtrack) look back at the wild ride: "I knew how it was going to end when I started writing it." If 1939 was cinema's golden year, 1969 was its watershed. Though Hollywood was still producing big-budget films (Hello, Dolly!) and features starring such veterans as John Wayne (True Grit), the counterculture was quickly taking root. That year heralded the arrival of such new filmmakers as Paul Mazursky (Bob & Carol & Ted...

Harley-Davidson is releasing details about the electric motorcycle it’s rolling out this year that it hopes will capture the imagination of a new generation of riders and put a charge into its diminishing sales. "Why risk a helicopter and crew when it is possible to insert operators by swarm?" JetPack Aviation asks, using this concept art to illustrate just such an insertion. (JetPack Aviation) ==================================================================== The 20th century was rough on cavalry. While the age of battlefield dominance by horse-borne fighters had long since passed, scouting and charging from horseback remained a part of warfare, especially irregular warfare; that is until trenches, barbed wire, machine guns and armored vehicles rendered that use for horses mostly irrelevant. Cavalry regiments traded in their mounts for armored vehicles, and for the most part the dream of nimble...

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Especially when that book is a scrapyard. One of the most incredible collections of vintage Indian motorcycles and memorabilia was recently discovered on the property of RJ&C Metal Fabricators in Phoenix, after its owner Rickey Jensen passed away. There, in a locked shed behind the stacks of barrels, beams, random machinery and broken down cars were 15 Indian motorcycles, several of the brand’s bicycles and dozens of signs, clocks and promotional items. According to Mecum Auctions, Jensen mostly kept it a secret, and only one or two other people had ever even known...

Zero has become the biggest name among the ascendant electric motorcycle companies, making bikes for dirt riders, commuters, and even police. I’ve ridden a few, and they’re a blast. The brand's electric bikes have all the benefits of electricity—minimal maintenance, energy efficiency, instant torque—alongside the main benefits of a motorcycle, such as easy parking, paying less than you would for a new car, and feeling cooler than you are. Today, Zero announced its new lineup of electric motorcycles. The most obvious improvement is range. Zero says the S and SR models with the $3,000 Power Tank option will do 223...
