The food service director of an impoverished Illinois school district was charged with stealing $1.5 million of food — most of which was chicken wings. Vera Liddell, 66, allegedly began stealing from the Harvey School District during the height of COVID-19, local TV station WGN reported. The station reported that Liddell ordered more than 11,000 cases of chicken wings for the district with school funds, but took all the poultry for herself. “The food was never brought to the school or provided to the students,” court records claimed.

Last Updated on January 30, 2023 The left-wing outrage mob that’s moved America’s Overton window further to the left than it’s been at any point in history has forced yet another NCAA football program to pull a scholarship offer from one of the best high school quarterbacks in the country after he sang along with rap lyrics in a social media video. Late last year, Marcus Stokes, the 24th-ranked high school quarterback in the country, was committed to playing college football at the University of Florida before his scholarship offer was revoked in the wake of a manufactured social media...

Notwithstanding former President Jimmy Carter's recent statement to the contrary, Undersecretary of State John Bolton's remarks about Cuba's biological weapons capabilities underscore lingering concerns with the rogue island only 90 miles from the United States. Bolton, on May 6, told an audience at the Washington, D.C.-based Heritage Foundation that the U.S. is suspicious about Cuban biomedical laboratories and their ability to transfer biological weapons technology to Iraq, Syria and Libya, all countries that Cuban President Fidel Castro visited last year. Bolton also made remarks, which may be interpreted as a clear signal of hardening State Department policy toward Cuba, faulting...

Ahead of his transfer to a West Virginia prison, inmates there traded bets over how much time mob boss James "Whitey" Bulger had left to live, illustrating how well-known his location was around the time of his move, a Justice Department watchdog found. A remarkable flurry of mishaps and bureaucratic blunders preceded the ill-fated transfer as officials in the federal Bureau of Prisons took minimal security precautions, despite Bulger being a renowned informant to law enforcement, according to the watchdog report. But the DOJ's inspector general report stopped short of accusing BOP workers of acting maliciously. "We found that did...

With a 10-1 win Friday night, the Dodgers notched their 109th victory of the season. If that sounds like a lot, that’s because it is. The Dodgers’ 109-win season is just the ninth instance overall of a team winning that many games, and the first time a National League team has reached such heights since 1909, when the Pirates won 110 games.Postseason success is the ultimate barometer of how a team will be remembered, but regular-season prowess – especially at this level – deserves attention, too. Here are seven facts and stats about the Dodgers reaching a level of winning not...

On January 7, 1972, Anderson was found dead in her Waikiki apartment. She had been stabbed more than 60 times. Police spent 50 years trying to solve her murder, reopening the case numerous times and coming up with new suspects, the New York Post reported. Authorities spoke to a pair of door-to-door knife salesmen who had visited Anderson’s home just hours before her murder, along with former boyfriends and the apartment building’s property manager – but all...

Most of you know her as Nancy Pelosi. When I first met my one-time neighbor, she was daughter to one Mayor of Baltimore, Tommy D’Alesandro, Jr., and sister to Tommy, III, who’d later become Mayor. Some of the stories about her, as she prepares to become Speaker of the House, have mentioned her past, but not honestly. At most, the glowing stories refer to the Baltimore City politics she grew up in as “rough and tumble.” Politics there and then were much more than rough and tumble. They were crooked as a dog’s hind leg. I know. I grew up...

FBI releases 60 year old files on Nancy Pelosi's father. The files detail a two-month investigation into Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., a Maryland politician who served in a long career in Congress and as mayor of Baltimore, Just the News noted in a Feb. 19 report on the FBI files. An FBI agent wrote on page 14 of the files: "There have been allegations that D'Alesandro has associated with the Baltimore criminal element and [redacted] and the son, Franklin Roosevelt D'Alesandro, had been arrested for rape." The allegations may have been rumor, the agent noted. Agents had written that Franklin Roosevelt...

Shocking footage has been released by Illinois State Police of the moment an officer in a patrol car was surrounded by a mob and his vehicle came under attack. The violence happened in the early hours of July 3 at the intersection of Division Street at Elston Avenue in just north of Chicago's downtown. A trooper was driving southbound on I-90 near Division Street at about 2am and noticed that traffic on an exit ramp had completely stopped. Upon driving over to investigate, a mob of mostly angry young men appeared out of nowhere as they sprinted towards the officer's...

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Thursday laid blame directly on former President Trump for the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot, saying during the House select committee’s hearing that Trump “summoned the mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of this attack.” “Those who invaded our Capitol and battled law enforcement for hours were motivated by what President Trump had told them: that the election was stolen, and that he was the rightful president,” Cheney, the vice chair of the Jan. 6 panel, said in her opening statement, which ran longer than 30 minutes.

Executive Summary The political Left often criticizes—and the mainstream media frequently report on—the network of center-right nonprofits funded by billionaire entrepreneurs Charles and David Koch. But few politicos know of a left-wing leviathan in Washington, D.C., with a reach rivaling that of the Koch network. This study by the Capital Research Center documents a shadowy web into which nearly $600 million flowed in 2017, the most recent year for which data are available. Operating under the aegis of “philanthropy,” this network is housed in and staffed by a for-profit, privately held consultancy called Arabella Advisors, LLC. Arabella manages four nonprofit...

A University at Buffalo student said Monday she feared for life when she was chased by an angry mob last week after inviting black former Texas GOP Chair Lt. Col. Allen West to speak on campus about overcoming racism. Therese Purcell, who is president of the Young Americans for Freedom at the university, told “Fox & Friends” she was forced to flee into a men’s bathroom after the on-campus event with West spiraled out of control. Purcell said protestors derailed the Thursday night event — titled America Is Not Racist: Why American Values are Exceptional — during a Q&A segment...
