There’s an interesting story out there—a white male Columbia University student joyfully exclaimed his love for white people on a viral video shown on Twitter. “Europeans built the modern world,” he said.. “We invented science and industry and you want to tell us to stop because, ‘Oh my God, we’re so bad.’ We invented the modern world.” The student, later identified as Julian von Abele, a sophomore at the school, appeared a bit “toasted,” to use a word known to college students everywhere. If he was, maybe it helped him get up the courage to tell the un-tellable truth in...

Justice William Ehrcke announced his decision after three days of hearings. He granted bail of $10 million Canadian (US$7.5 million) to Meng, but required her to wear an ankle bracelet, surrender her passports, stay in Vancouver and its suburbs, and confine herself to one of her two Vancouver homes from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

President Trump on Tuesday angrily threatened a government shutdown if Congress doesn’t fund his long-promised border wall during a heated White House sit-down with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. “I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. The people of this country don’t want criminals and people that have lots of problems pouring into our country,” the president told the Senate minority leader during a remarkable, tense exchange as the cameras rolled. “I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you. I’m going to shut...

CNN anchor Don Lemon sounded off on what he called President Donald Trump’s “lies,” and claimed the commander-in-chief's supporters only call out fact-fudging when it comes from Democrats. After his colleague Chris Cuomo closed his show by questioning the president’s evolving narrative about his business ties to Russia, Lemon said that Trump “lied about the lies that he lied about.” “To me, I think it has been sort of been accepted that this president lies and normalized in a way and that is bothersome no matter who is president, but that’s just bothersome to me and what it does to...

Jimmy Gressier wanted to finish in style. And while he did cross the line in a memorable fashion, it was probably not quite in the way he intended. The French runner had an eight second lead on his nearest challenger, Germany’s Samuel Fitwi, as he headed toward the finish line of the European Cross-Country Championships men’s U-23 race, according to European Athletics, the organization that hosts the event. After grabbing two French flags from the sidelines, Gressier, the defending champion, powered toward a final patch of mud just before the tape. Attempting to slide along the mud and across the...

Moon Fahel from San Antonio, Texas, had just gotten home from a martial arts class that he’s been taking for the last 15 years when he answered the phone call from Runner’s World. It wasn’t an anomaly—he stays busy with other classes during rest of the week, too: kickboxing, Zumba, athletic dancing, and BODYPUMP, among others. Plus, he just ran his fifth marathon this past Sunday at the San Antonio Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon. Oh, and he’s 85 years of age. (The word “old” doesn’t have a place in his vocabulary.) “I don’t know what old is,” Fahel said. “If...

Despite tough new immigration policies imposed by the Trump administration, the United States is still the top pick by far for migrants seeking a new home. Some 158 million people have desires to move to the U.S. The number accounts for around 21 percent of all those in the world seeking a new home. The U.S. beats other supposedly attractive countries including Canada and some European countries. Snip In a worldwide survey, Gallup found that 15 percent of the world, or 758 million, want to move, most for jobs.

Full title: Pope: Christians murdered by Muslims are testament to God’s plan for peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims. “The lives of 19 religious men and women martyred during the Algerian civil war are a testament to God’s plan of love and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims, Pope Francis said.” A more serious analyst would note that they were, after all, murdered, so they might not be that great a testimony to peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims. But this is the Pope who has said that “Muslim terrorism does not exist.”

The Keystone Pipeline is once again facing legal hurdles. A federal judge in Florida told a developer working on the project that they couldn’t even ship pipe to the construction site. The judge is an Obama-appointee who recently blocked a permit for the long-awaited project in November (via The Hill): A federal judge said the developer behind the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline can’t even haul pipe in preparation for the project. Judge Brian Morris of the federal District Court for the District of Montana rejected TransCanada Corp.’s request Friday to complete various “preconstruction” activities in preparation for building the...

The Supreme Court declined to review three cases relating to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood at the state level Monday, over a vigorous dissent from Justice Clarence Thomas. The dissent was significant because it indicates that Justice Brett Kavanaugh sided with the high court’s liberal wing to deny review of a lower court decision that favored the nation’s largest abortion provider. “So what explains the Court’s refusal to do its job here?,” Thomas wrote. “I suspect it has something to do with the fact that some respondents in these cases are named ‘Planned Parenthood.'” “Some tenuous connection to a...

Hypothetically, if they succeed in indicting Trump and impeachment using such flimsy evidence, they would incite massive rebellion from people who support Trump. Possible riots? Civil War? Are they wanting this? Would this be an excuse to confiscate guns? Martial Law? They would still get Pence if Trump was thrown out of office, so what is the point? Sorry for the Vanity and if these are stupid questions, but I am just trying to figure out why they are doing this?
