My mother's sisters reported thatin Sylacauga Alabama, there was some 'screw-ups with voter machines not going to the correct voting location, and having to be taken back to city hall to be reloaded ... for the correct locations, and to "MOVE" the votes that had already been placed in them INTO the correct machines for the proper voting location, and then brought back to that proper location. Sounds "VERY STRANGE" to me. Is this a new way for DemocRATS to ERASE VOTES in the machines while they move the voting information from one voter machine INTO another voter machine ? Someone...

A federal public corruption investigation of McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna that reportedly involves his dismissing criminal cases for friends and donors remains ongoing, according to a sworn affidavit from a former veteran police detective filed Tuesday in two Twin Peaks shootout cases. Retired Waco police Detective Sherry Kingrey said in the sworn statement, dated Dec. 11, that she provided information about Reyna and his “close friends,” who Kingrey said were organizers of an “illegal gambling operation in Waco,” to FBI agent Fred Rhea. Rhea, in turn, put Kingrey in touch with FBI agent Dan Brust, Kingrey’s affidavit said....

A real probable scenario is that all of the women who accused Moore of sexual misconduct will suddenly disappear from the scene. Mission accomplished. Mitch McConnell can't disappear, but he also bears a huge part of the responsibility for unjustly undermining Moore's campaign. Complete falsehoods were used to win politically. Look at which point in history we have arrived.

Among the hundreds of changes in state law that might be considered in the Missouri Legislature next year is one that centers on a pizza gone bad. It started with a Gasconade County man who was unhappy with the local police after he got pulled over by a cop for having a loud muffler. It escalated when the police chief later stopped by his place of work to pick up a pizza for his kids. Rep. Justin Alferman, R-Hermann, said the proposal he has introduced stems from the outcome of the December 2016 incident involving Hermann Police chief Marlon Walker...

The Justice Department provided congressional committees with hundreds of text messages between Peter Strzok — the agent on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team who was demoted for critical messages about President Trump — and his alleged mistress Lisa Page, a lawyer also assigned to the probe. Those text messages were obtained by the Washington Examiner, and show extreme political opinions shared about the two dating back to 2015. One message from Page to Strzok is a link to a story about Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin, with the text “What an utter idiot.”

Republicans are hesitant to switch from our winner-take-all state laws allocating electors to the electoral college to using the National Popular Vote. The National Popular Vote Plan would award all of a state’s electors to the candidate who wins the most popular votes in all fifty states. There is a fear that such a move will benefit Democrats, since Democrats won the popular vote even though they lost the elections in 2000 and 2016. But the truth is, Republicans are likely going to lose their ability to win the necessary swing state of Florida in the future, and they can...

A lawyer for Donald Trump Jr. , President Donald Trump’s eldest son, on Tuesday asked the House Intelligence Committee to open a “formal inquiry” into what he said were leaks by committee members or staff following the younger Mr. Trump’s interview with the panel earlier this month. The lawyer, Alan Futerfas, in a letter sent to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Conaway (R., Texas), asked the panel to investigate in particular “whether any members or staff members of this committee intentionally disseminated inaccurate information to the media,” according to a copy of the letter viewed by The Wall Street...

The city allowed Colin Kaepernick to make a surprise visit to Rikers Island Tuesday to meet with inmates — enraging correction officers who feel the stunt will only endanger them. The former San Francisco 49ers star spoke to groups of inmates during two 45 minute sessions at the jail’s George Motchan Detention Center Tuesday morning where he pontificated on social justice issues and talked about his decision to kneel during the national anthem, sparking nationwide outrage. “That’s crazy to me to have a person like Colin Kaepernick in prison talking about police brutality,” said an officer who attended the event....

A top member of President Trump’s outside legal team called Tuesday for the appointment of a separate special prosecutor to look into potential conflicts of interest involving Justice Department and FBI officials. Jay Sekulow made the call following a Fox News report revealing that the wife of a DOJ official demoted for concealing his meetings with the firm behind the anti-Trump “dossier” herself worked for the same firm, Fusion GPS, during the 2016 election. Sekulow told Fox News that a special prosecutor should be appointed to look into these issues. A group of House Republicans for months has called for...

(recipes at link) A variation of the traditional fruit salad, ambrosia has its own special day, and it is celebrated annually on National Ambrosia Day. Ambrosia, according to Greek mythology, is the nectar of the gods, endowing strength and immortality to those who eat it. The term itself can mean something especially delectable to taste or smell. A simple ambrosia salad from the late 1800s, when the earliest recipes are found, was made with citrus fruit, coconut and sugar. There are those who abhor coconut and would leave it out. Should this occur, a forceful objection would be heard from...

If you ever needed proof that fate is real and that some relationships are just meant to be, hold onto your cynical hats. Let’s rewind back 10 years. Verona Koliqi, who now lives in London but is originally from Kosovo, was visiting a beach in Montenegro with her family. They look the classic family holiday pictures and probably thought no more about them. Until Verona, a decade later, was examining one of the photos from the beach trip with her fiancé Mirand and noticed that the little boy floating on a lilo in the sea behind the Koliqi family. ‘He...

The arrest closes the oldest, open cold case homicide on record with the Antioch Police DepartmentA convicted rapist was arrested Monday in the 1980 abduction, rape and killing of a teenage girl, Antioch police said. The killing had been the oldest open cold case homicide on record in the East Bay city. At about 5 p.m., Mitchell Lynn Bacom, 63, was taken into custody in the June 1980 murder of 14-year-old Suzanne Bombardier, who had been taken in the middle of the night from her sister's home in Antioch, police said. She had been missing for five days before her...

Paleontologists have found entombed in amber a 99-million-year-old tick grasping the feather of a dinosaur, providing the first direct evidence that the tiny pests drank dinosaur blood. Immortalized in the golden gemstone, the bloodsucker’s last supper is remarkable because it is rare to find parasites with their hosts in the fossil record. The finding, which was published Tuesday, gives researchers tantalizing insight into the prehistoric diet of one of today’s most prevalent pests.

Sen. Warren, D-Mass., quickly jumped into the fight, replying to the president with a tweet of her own. "Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame [Sen. Gillibrand]? Do you know who you're picking a fight with? Good luck with that, [Donald Trump]," the senator wrote, adding, "Nevertheless, #shepersisted." Warren's ability to inject both "slut-shaming" and her personal branding into a statement of support for a beleaguered presidential rival is almost impressive for its transparent opportunism. Believe it or not, the Oxford English Dictionary actually has a definition for "slut-shaming," which it says is to "[s]tigmatize (a woman) for...

Environment Secretary Michael Gove said Tuesday, promising that welfare standards would improve after leaving the European Union. "We are a nation of animal lovers so we will make Brexit work not just for citizens but for the animals we love and cherish too," said Gove, a leading pro-Brexit campaigner for the 2016 EU referendum. Gove was presenting a draft law that would enshrine the concept of animal sentience into British law and introduce new jail sentences for animal abusers. "Britain outside the European Union can have higher standards on the environment and indeed on animal welfare," he said.
