Vice President Mike Pence expressed anger about President Trump to a Republican senator after the commander-in-chief made the veep a target of the angry crowds that stormed the Capitol for simply following the Constitution’s rules regarding the Electoral College vote certification. Speaking to Tulsa World after the shocking series of events unfolded Wednesday, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) revealed that he had spoken to the vice president — and that he was furious.

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration later this month after overseeing Wednesday’s chaotic certification of the president-elect’s Electoral College win. Three sources close to Pence said he would likely make an appearance at the Jan. 20 event in a show of support for the peaceful transition of power. The decision to attend, they said, became easier after President Donald Trump publicly criticized Pence leading up to, and following, his refusal to stop the certification.

A federal judge on Friday dismissed a bid by Rep. Louie Gohmert (Texas) and other Republicans that sought to endow Vice President Pence with the legal authority to effectively overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral win.
