Of all the political angles that might be played in connection with the Aurora theater shooting, surely racism would be a card too far, right? Wrong. Subbing for Ed Schultz on MSNBC tonight, Michael Eric Dyson managed to suggest that James Holmes would have attracted the attention of the authorities earlier had he been, yup, "a Muslim or another minority." Until he twisted her arm, it was too much even for Dyson's super-lib guest, Illinois congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. View the video here.

In a recent twitter the eminent Fox commentator Marc Lamont Hill asked his followers in exasperation, "Am I the only one who thinks that awarding Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize is ABSURD?!?!?!" Hill coupled that with this: "Ok, now I HAVE to to start my 'overrated Black people' list. A NOBEL PRIZE? REALLY?" Bill Cosby spawned a cottage industry among opinion writers when he ascended a podium in Washington last year and harangued inner-city parents for doing too little to educate their children. He threw salt in the wound by saying those parents were spending too much on expensive sneakers and not enough on books.
