In a recent twitter the eminent Fox commentator Marc Lamont Hill asked his followers in exasperation,
"Am I the only one who thinks that awarding Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize is ABSURD?!?!?!"Hill coupled that with this:
"Ok, now I HAVE to to start my 'overrated Black people' list. A NOBEL PRIZE? REALLY?"We at NewsReal are going to take Hill up on this insightful suggestion (and we will also invite Mr. Hill to post his own candidates). For what Marc Lamont Hill has stumbled onto here is one of the tragedies of our time, inflicted on black people by progressives pretending to be their defenders. Shelby Steele has written an insightful book called White Guilt which examines how whites have rewarded behaviors by individual blacks with levels of incompetence that they wouldn't tolerate for a second in themselves. They have done it in the name of enlightenment and "social justice." But the effect is just the opposite. It deprives blacks of the tests of self that make achievement possible. In Steele's formulation "no one ever learned to jump higher by lowering the bar." (There are no affirmative action athletes and consequently no black superstar's credentials are questioned. ) Preferential treatment for blacks in intellectual fields undermines the real achievements of African Americans by casting doubt on any credential that they receive. This is an injury that cannot be repaired by more quotas, or by any quotas.

Yeah like listening to Puff Daddy talk or whatever for more than 5 Seconds.

I have been trying in vain to formulate that exact communication for a long time now. So well said, and right on point.
This guy totally gets what we all see, but can articulate it, so that even liberals can understand it. Bravo.
You mean Marc “I never liked an issue unless I could proclaim racism” Lamont Hill?
Good for him.
GWB was pooh-poohed when he spoke of “The soft bigotry of lowered expectations”.
This is what decades of AA, set asides etc. bring. A dumb ass in the WH who thought all he had to do was vote ‘present’ when he was in the senate and show up in Copenhagen to receive ‘his’ prize.
It's so amusing to see and hear all these fools who've been telling us how absolutely marvelous Obama was suddenly stunned that some other bunch of fools, probably influenced in part by the first bunch of fools, reward him for the nothingness he's been so celebrated for all along - at last, reductio ad absurdum seems to be one tactic that can get through to libs.......
I have seen the term, Reverend, Bishop, Prophet, Apostle, Father, High Priest, Minister, Deacon, and Doctor applied to people I wouldn’t trust to wash my car.
If I were to go on CNN and claim to be a freakin’ “Bishop”, it is possible that someone my ask, Oh so you are a “Reverend-Bishop-Prophet”...Where did you study? Where were you ordained?
However, that never seems to happen...
Blech. Dyson was the one who “expanded” on Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” by claiming he heard racist things, then when asked if he really heard that, had to say, “No, but it was implied.” Racist game over.
