Education The public education situation in this country has become a chronic example of wasteful and ineffective government spending. It is a travesty that we have to relinquish our tax dollars to under-educate and indoctrinate our children. The public school system’s standards are so low that we have high school students who literally cannot read. I heard this word used verbally in a sentence...it is not part of the "paradine". I have spelled it as I heard it, but have no idea of the spelling or meaning. I have tried to look it up using online dictionaries using different spellings with no luck. Can someone help?
  • Why does Ethanol additives cause gas prices to rise?

    04/27/2006 11:21:18 AM PDT · by John Geyer · 187 replies · 2,809+ views

I would assume that ethanol, being produced by fermenting American grown corn into a useable fuel, would make gas cheaper, not more expensive. Instead of making the price of gas rise, I would believe that it would fall because we are using a renewable, home grown form of fuel. I guess I'm an idiot for not understanding the reasons behind this, but I ask for someone with more experience to explain it for me. I was telling my father how ethanol would make gas cheaper, and now I feel like a complete moron. How me understand.
