There appears to be a police standoff in the area of 15th and H St NW. Reports conflict, but one version has it being a standoff between authorities and someone in a van at that location ((a couple of blocks from the White House)).

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI says a man distraught over a child custody case is threatening to blow up his van near the White House. The episode has promoted a standoff with police. Debra Weierman, spokeswoman for the FBI's Washington field office, said the man driving the red van claimed to have 15 gallons of gasoline. Weierman says he'll "blow it up if he doesn't get his child back." The incident occurred along the parade route that President Bush will travel on Thursday after his inauguration.
