Hello! Adele fans who bought tickets to her 13 week run Vegas run on Stub Hub are pretty much sunk for now. It’s not exactly Stub Huh’s fault. It’s unclear when they knew she was going to throw in the towel. But I’ve talked to their people and this is what they have to say: Adele didn’t cancel, she postponed. The wording — through tears — was very specific. The shows are supposed to be re-scheduled. Until that happens, holders of tickets bought on Stub Hub can’t do anything. They can’t re-sell. They can’t get refunds. This includes everyone who...

Eyewitness reports in affidavit confirm attack was deliberate.. The affidavit against the Christmas parade killer states that Darrell Edward Brooks Jr drove in a zig zag pattern in order to “hit as many” people as possible, confirming yet again that the massacre was a deliberate attack. Ever since the incident, the media has tried to play down any possibility that the attack was motivated by Brooks’ extremist political views, his support for BLM or violent hatred for white people. This was exemplified in the hours after the tragedy, when numerous outlets falsely reported that Brooks was merely trying to flee...

Researchers say they've recovered a mineral from deep inside the Earth — one they thought would never see the light of day. Scientists at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, named the mineral "davemaoite," after Ho-kwang "Dave" Mao, a retired experimental geophysicist whose influence on the field is still felt today. "It's an opportunity to give him credit for his big contributions," said Oliver Tschauner, a mineralogist who led a study of the rare mineral, in an interview with NPR's Morning Edition. No one ever expected to see the mineral on the Earth's surface. That's because deep-Earth minerals like davemaoite...

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, lacing up for a possible presidential run in 2024, told "Axios on HBO" he won't back down from a fight with former President Donald Trump, taunting his longtime friend for losing the last election. "I've never walked away from an argument, no matter who stood on the other side," Christie told me during a wide-ranging interview in New Jersey. Why it matters: This is the first hand-to-hand combat of the 2024 Republican presidential race. Many Republican candidates fear crossing Trump. But Christie — who said he still considers Trump a friend, despite their falling-out...

These wagers were too rich for the Department of Justice’s blood. A Los Angeles County casino was hit with a hefty fine for failing to properly alert financial regulators and the Internal Revenue Service when a “high roller” walked in with $100 million in cash to bet on games of baccarat. Federal prosecutors say the unnamed whale — who was described only as a Chinese national — made over 100 visits to the Bicycle Hotel & Casino over eight months in 2016, often arriving with duffle bags full of cash to bet on marathon sessions of the high-stakes card game.

The Las Vegas Raiders waived 2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette and have now cut ties with both first-round picks from that draft before the midpoint of their second season. General manager Mike Mayock called it a “painful decision” to release Arnette on Monday but said it was necessary in response to a social media post with Arnette brandishing a gun and threatening to kill someone. Arnette was drafted 19th overall with a pick acquired in the Khalil Mack trade despite what Mayock called “significant concerns” about his character. Arnette was rated lower on most draft rankings but the Raiders believed...

For the last year, Nevada Democrats have been warring with each other over the past and future of their party. Senator Harry Reid, the state’s most successful politician, built a Democratic machine in the late 1990s and early 21st century that dominated local and national races up and down the ballot. But the machine suffered some setbacks in 2018 and 2020, leaving an opening for radicals to take control. The Democratic Socialists of America took over the party, and the Harry Reid faction didn’t much like it. They’ve been at war ever since. The Washoe County Democrats declared their independence...

Christie was in Las Vegas on Saturday, addressing the annual leadership meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), a major conference of party leaders, activists and mega-donors. "We can no longer talk about the past and the past elections," the former governor, a supporter of Trump but vocal critic of the former president's litigating of the 2020 election, said to applause. "No matter where you stand on that issue, it’s over," Christie argued. "Every minute we spend talking about 2020, while we’re wasting time doing that, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are laying ruin to...
