LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — According to Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command Twitter, a fatal crash that took 4 lives occurred Monday evening around 6 p.m.
The crash location is southbound I-15 at Sloan Lane involving at least six vehicles.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Red Cadillac was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.
A Toyota pickup was traveling southbound in the southbound lane.
The two vehicles crashed head-on, causing the pick-up to catch fire with all three occupants of the vehicle dying on the scene.
According to Nevada State Police, the occupants of the pick-up can not be identified at this time due to the fire.
The female adult driver of the red Cadillac also died on the scene.
Evidence at the scene suggests alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
There were four other vehicles involved swerving out of the way.
Two people from these vehicles were taken to UMC Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
I-15 was back open as of 3:53 a.m. Tuesday.
