June 26, 2005 Guest Viewpoint: The party's over for betrayed Republican By James Chaney As of today, after 25 years, I am no longer a Republican. I take this step with deep regret, and with a deep sense of betrayal. I still believe in the vast power of markets to inspire ideas, motivate solutions and eliminate waste. I still believe in international vigilance and a strong defense, because this world will always be home to people who will avidly seek to take or destroy what we have built as a nation. I still believe in the protection of individuals and...

I am very worried for Karl Rove. Ir appears he is going to jail, and I don't want him to end up in a bad place where bad things could happen to him (what were those bad federal prisons referred to in the movie "Office Space?") Can we start a petition to give to his sentencing judge to have him sent to a nice prison? Maybe he coould go where Martha Stewart went. Or is that just for women. Let's make sure he goes to a nice place, though.

I think you stupud amerikans deserved this for a long time. Ever since you settled down in other peoples property you have been commiting ethnic cleansing and genocide against people just because they weren't white or as savy as you are. What ever to private property rights for the original inhabitants of the land? In Sweeden we don't do things like that. You forced them out at gunpoint and now you whine about Walmart taking away your homes for it's own benefit the same way. I hope you lose your land and live in the streets and die you fat...

Harassing the Tomb Raider? Harassing the tomb raider? That’s pretty much what happened when an Angelina Jolie stand-in went to work for the Department of Homeland Security! The Homeland employee once worked as Angelina Jolie’s stunt double before she joined the government, where she thought she would be making America safe from the real-life bad guys. Only it turns out at least one bad guy was on the inside of the agency. The employee claimed her civil service turned into a made-for-the-movies nightmare when her supervisor started stalking her. She claimed she was the victim of sexual harassment and even...

I am concerned about our Country. What happened to the American Dream? What happened to freedom for all? This Country was founded on freedom for all. The Constitution states WE THE PEOPLE(ALL PEOPLE),& THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS,FREEDOM & THE AMERICAN DREAM. We all need to come together & fight for theses things. Years ago people came together to protest for things that were wrong or things they believed in,that is what we need to do now to preserve this country for our children & our children's children. We also cannot forget God-whatever God you believe in. That is also another...

I just want to know something. Does anyone out there feel like they got cheated by voting for G.W.? I voted for the guy twice and feel like I got screwed. I want a plan for Iraq, not just unlimited deployments with no end in sight. I want a REAL border policy, like the one Mexico has for IT'S southern border. And yesterday's Supreme Court ruling was the final straw for me. G.W. can't do much about the Supreme Court's ruling, but he can make recess appointments and at least "persuade" the RINO's to back off for the good of...

For those hoping that a second term would cool the seething resentment of George Bush and his supporters over having to live in a democratic society, it was a sobering moment: Bush Resubmits 20 Nominations for Federal JudgeshipsDec. 23 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. President George W. Bush will resubmit 20 federal judicial nominations, reigniting a battle with Democrats who accuse the nominees of hostility to abortion rights and the environment. The list includes seven of the 10 candidates whose nominations failed during Bush's first term because of Democratic filibusters that blocked Senate confirmation votes. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid called the nominees...

The money spend, the things we buy, or is it just a matter of that we only think everything os ok? Baptist church 'fake pope' sign attracting attention, criticism By JEANNINE F. HUNTER, hunter@knews.com April 13, 2005 NEWPORT, Tenn. - Two days after being posted, a church marquee message that questions the purpose of the papacy is still attracting attention in this small community. "What I am trying to do is to let people know there's only one way to heaven through Jesus Christ," said the Rev. Cline Franklin, pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church. "There's no need for help. God sent his son, Jesus Christ. We're all priests if we're saved. I don't need to go to anybody else to pray."...

If you, gentlemen, really want “to see US politics from another angle”, compare it with politics of present-day totalitarian regimes in Central Asia, for instance. And you’ll realize that there are practically no differences for our “democratic” state and e.g. authoritarian government in Turkmenistan. It’s common knowledge that Turkmen authorities abridge liberty of speech, freedom of the press, exercising control over mass and I-net. They bow down, imposing restrictions on freedom of association and assembly, in order to curtail political activity of non-governmental organizations, including groups of religious minorities. Nijazov does it with the aim of exercising control over latitude...

Knight-Rider) Charleston, S.C. -- Marianne Watson is your typical Daniel Island High School student. She likes shopping at the Galleria. She enjoys hanging out with her friends at Dancin’ Nancies on teen night. She is obsessed with singer Jack Johnson. But unbeknownst to her family, Marianne had a drug problem. Her friends knew Marianne abused drugs, but troubled teens very rarely know the trouble they are in until it is too late. And in the case of Marianne Watson, the trap she fell into was well hidden. Alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, LSD, heroin – Marianne knew to avoid these drugs. As...

Some of my friends, family members, and co-workers wonder how I could be a political liberal in the midst of this new swell of conservatism the United States. The answers to that are all too simple. I am a liberal because the system originated by liberals called Social Security has made my parents' retirement more possible and comfortable than it would otherwise have been. I am a liberal because the system originated by liberals called Medicare paid for my mother to have two knees and a hip replaced at a cost that otherwise could not have been born by all...

Hi Jim, Looks like Illegal Immigration and Amnesty is going to be your downfall, and the downfall of FR if you don't change your ways. I hope it is not the downfall of the conservative movement. Or is that what you wanted? Your story is all over the web, and many people now know the truth. I kept my account here for just this occassion. Go ahead and ban me and prove your critics correct. I reported abuse (name calling, personal attacks etc.)from your favorites, and I was the one that was suspended. The jig is up Jim, and you've...

No No, All of the people in the picture survived. This due to quick acting by-standers who immediately helped two people with mouth2mouth but all others did not need help, but rather minor medical attention to cuts and bruises. The cameraman on the van/truck survived as well.

I tried to have an honest discussion over there, but they swore, insulted and finally banned me. I may not be looking at this objectively, so tell me what you think: alfrankenweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19360&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Does anyone here listen to Savege nation? I do, most of the time. Michael Is entertaining, and he DOES tell it like it is. BUT, it seems like nothing Bush does is EVER good enough for him. I never hear Michael complimenting W on much of anything. Is this just my imagination?
