If you were a Republican, would you turn to Morning Joe for the inside skinny about what's going on in the ongoing struggle for a new House Speaker? Would Joe Scarborough be your guide to how 200-plus elected Republicans think right now? On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough claimed: "You talk to 98% of the members in the House and the Senate who are Republicans, and they privately hate Trump, hate him! Always have. They get in front of a camera, and they just, they sell their political soul to him." Get the rest of the story and view the video...

Liz Cheney has slammed ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for 'elevating white supremacists and anti-Semites' as part of his leadership. Cheney was defeated in a primary in 2022 by Harriet Hageman in a race that was heavily influenced by her criticism of Donald Trump. The daughter of ex-Vice President Dick Cheney said McCarthy has muddled the party by following Trump's lead. 'I wish that it were surprising,' she told CNN. 'You know, what we've seen is a result of really the leadership decisions that Kevin McCarthy made back after the 2020 election and certainly after January 6.' 'And, you know,...

House Republicans voted down Jim Jordan, a member from Ohio, as a candidate for the House Speaker position. The secret ballot concluded with 112 votes against Jordan and 86 in his favor. This ballot was cast after the House of Representatives lacked a Speaker for over two weeks, following a motion by Matt Gaetz to vacate the chair. Kevin McCarthy had also been removed from the position earlier in the month by a 216-210 vote. The eight Republicans that voted against McCarthy included Biggs, Buck, Burchett, Crane, Gaetz, Good, Mace, and Rosendale. After the recent ballot, Kevin McCarthy voiced his...

In the backdrop of the controversies about who is to be voted Speaker of the House of Representatives is the awareness that this role is third in line for the presidency. The current president seems barely functional. The number two in line is absent without leave, never qualified in any sense, and is universally regarded as a joke if she is regarded at all, which she mostly is not. That leaves the Speaker of the House, very close to the center of power. For many people in Washington, this is a huge problem. The uniparty decided some years ago never...

I would imagine that Jim Jordan is a tad bit disappointed Friday that his fellow Republicans finally decided to end his dream of becoming speaker after three attempts. Running for a congressional seat is probably much harder -- physically -- than running around a district of 600,000 people and playing nice. Yet, losing a contest to lead your peers of a little over 200 -- mentally -- has to sting a little bit. Comfortable in the fact that I know that I'll never run for office, I can't say I can really imagine how Jordan feels, having never met the...

As Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) saw his Speaker nomination end after three failed votes, several Republicans are offering to censure themselves to pave the way for him to take over the role. On Friday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL.) joined six other Republicans in preparing to go to battle to ensure Jordan becomes Speaker of the House. In a letter to House Republicans, the GOP members said they are willing to be suspended, censured, or removed from the Conference to save Jordan's sinking ship. "If the holdouts who refuse to vote for Speaker-Designate Jim Jordan would be willing to 'vote with...

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier today Jordan lost a third bid to be Speaker of the House. After Jordan’s latest unsuccessful bid, the House GOP voted in a secret ballot at 1 PM regarding whether Jordan should remain the party’s nominee for Speaker. Jim Jordan lost a secret ballot to remain the GOP’s nominee for Speaker, according to Jake Sherman. And it was not close either. The final margin was 122-86. Of course, we will never know who betrayed the GOP base because these members were too scared to vote in public. The House GOP will now be heading home...

At least nine Republicans so far have either announced their candidacy, have called other members about a bid, or are mulling whether to run. The candidate forum will be on Monday at 6 p.m., and the election process will begin Tuesday at 9 a.m., Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) said. He also plans to start voting on the floor on Tuesday.

The House of Representatives has voted for a third time on Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan for speaker, and for a third time, Jordan has not obtained the necessary votes. Jordan obtained 194 votes from Republicans, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries had 210 votes from Democrats, and 25 Republicans opted to vote for candidates other than Jordan.

Why don't quite a number of GOP House members just admit they don't want to be in a political party, don't understand what having a political majority can mean for all members of the party, and just want to stand out instead of being included - so why don't they just leave their party and be done with it, and provide the inevitable, handing the speaker role to the Dims.

I’m not posting this for the content per se’, but rather as an example of how if you listen carefully, you can catch the DeceptiCONs. This is the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Mike McCaul, talking to Maria Bartiromo about the Israeli war.♦ Context matters! Remember, it was just a few days ago when Mike McCaul left a “non-classified” White House briefing by DNI Avril Haines and the State Dept, likely Victoria Nuland, and immediately went to the microphones to push a false story that Egypt had warned the Israelis in advance of the Hamas attack {GO DEEP}....

On the Thursday edition of her MSNBC show, Nicolle Wallace shed any pretense of compassionate or even dispassionate political analysis, and embraced her inner hatred. Speaking about the 22 Republicans who wouldn't vote for Jordan with ex-GOP congressman and Never Trumper David Jolly, Wallace said: "I know why I have a visceral rejection of Jim Jordan and it precedes his role in overturning the result of the 2020 election, but tell me why they hate him, the 22?"Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Just the other week Republican State Senator Colton Moore found himself kicked out of the GOP Caucus in the state senate when he dared to propose an impeachment process against Democrat Atlanta prosecutor Fani Willis. Willis targeting President Trump and his supporters for challenging the 2020 election results. The GOP Senate leadership of Georgia now planning a symbolic vote rebuking Willis after they came under fire from the local voters. But that's the problem at all levels of our government Legislative Leadership prevents meaningful action against corruption, wasteful spending, bad policies of all kinds. Legislative Leaders at the federal, state...

Jim Jordan is taking the fight back to the House floor tomorrow. This will be a televised vote at 10 a.m. Jim Jordan for Speaker!

Rep. Jim Jordan met the 20 hold outs tonight and they told him bluntly they won't support him for Speaker This is crazy. They'll never give us this victory. Jordan wanted to know what they wanted and what the issue is. Their opposition doesn't seem to be based on anything. They're just being complete a**holes for the sake of it?! Kind of like "Never Trumpers". Anyway, another (third) Speaker vote is scheduled for tomorrow. Jordan is not quitting which is good. McCarthy had 15 rounds of voting remember. The plan to empower the Bush crony as Speaker also did not...

Rep. Jim Jordan won’t pursue another speaker vote for now as House looks to empower temporary speaker Rep. Patrick T. McHenry

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Hardline conservative Jim Jordan told his fellow Republicans he will suspend his bid to serve as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and back Republican Patrick McHenry to fill the role on a temporary basis, a lawmaker said on Thursday.

Today is the day Republicans elect a speaker. One way or another, with or without the help of Democrats, someone is going to sit in the Big Chair. Maybe. At least for a while. If that sounds vague and uncertain, welcome to the Republican Party circa 2023. After 48 hours of ham-handed threats and strong-arm tactics, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is still short of a majority to win the speakership. In fact, Jordan lost support on the second ballot with 22 Republicans now opposing his bid for speaker — two more than the 20 who voted against him on Tuesday....

Steve Bannon invited Tea Party Patriots founder Jenny Beth Martin on the War Room on Wednesday morning as Republican lawmakers continue to vote for House Speaker. The American people want Jim Jordan as Speaker. The RINOs and DC insiders want an ‘old bull’ to take over the speakership. Steve Bannon broke this news during their conversation. Lobbyists are reportedly buying off RINOs for their votes. Steve Bannon: I have spies everywhere. Folks were calling me last night from the Capitol Grill, which is the worst of the worst, and the lobbyists were literally walking around cutting deals with people at...
