NEW YORK - New York Police Department officers are blasting a ruling by a federal judge preventing them from searching demonstrator's bads outside the GOP convention later this year. Judge Robert Sweet, a federal judge in Manhattan, pronounced yesterday that searches of blankets and bulky bags and backpacks may not be searched en masse in absence of any "specific threat".
