Tropical Storm Isaac forced Republicans on Sunday to rewrite the script for their national convention in Tampa, as party officials scrambled to make sure candidate Mitt Romney's message to voters would not be blown off course. Isaac was expected to spare Tampa a direct hit and strike, with hurricane strength, farther north along the Gulf Coast this week. But it has left Republicans who canceled most of their schedule for Monday in anticipation of the storm with a new challenge for the convention's remaining three days: Help Romney make an aggressive, memorable argument to be president, while being careful to...

This week's Republican National Convention may be extended into Friday in order to make up for time lost Monday due to Tropical Storm Isaac, National Journal reports. Chris Frates and Alex Roarty note: Republicans are leaving open the possibility of extending their Tampa convention by a day, a senior Republican official told National Journal. With Isaac expected to strengthen to a Category 2 hurricane and hit the Gulf Coast between Louisiana and Florida at midweek, Republicans are looking for flexibility in their schedule... The convention currently is scheduled to end Thursday, but major disruptions in Tampa or along the Gulf...

On August 24th, we warned on Forbes that Tropical Storm Isaac could pose a threat to energy markets and even rival Hurricane Katrina in its destructive power (Could Tropical Storm Isaac Turn Into Another Katrina?). While the computer models are still showing a substantial spread in solutions, it appears more likely that Isaac will make landfall somewhere near the Louisiana, Mississippi Gulf Coast. This track will provide the storm more time to intensify over the very warm water of the Gulf of Mexico. The entire Gulf Coast from Lake Charles, LA to Panama City, FL should be aware of the...

This is a real howler coming from a woman replaced by a Republican after her failed policies rained as much misery on the State of Michigan as any hurricane. But let's talk about the real issues, and that's the media. If some obscure, no-name Republican City Councilman in some unincorporated small Southern town tweeted these exact words out after President Obama's convention was delayed by a hurricane, right now it would be the lead on Politico, Andrea Mitchell's wig hair would be on fire, Michael Steele and Joe Scarborough would've called a joint press

NHC has been slow to adjust their forecast, but models in the last 24week hours have been indicating a possible Cat 3 hitting New Orleans. While dems have been rooting for the Tampa landfall to ruin our convention, a NO landfall catastrophe with Jindal running circles around 0, while 0 is playing politics during the aftermath... maybe it is their convention that gets ruined. I am certainly not rooting for a disaster, but it would certainly be ironic.

"CLEAR THE AREA OF POTENTIAL FLYING OBJECTS. Anything and everything in our yard AND the neighborhood that could be turned into a missile (including that 100lb garden pot you don’t think can fly…it can), goes into the garage.... BOARDING UP: If you want to board up, this is how we did it (In Pensacola, ’04 for Hurricane Ivan). (Now, there are great Plylox Hurricane Clips available, which will save you step #2," .......

Yes this is a vanity and yes everything can change again in 12 hours...HOWEVER...BE REMINDED OF THIS QUOTE FROM TEAM OBAMA!!! "Never let a good crisis go to waste" The perfect storm might be developing for Obama as we speak as models for Tropical Storm soon to be Hurricane Isaac have shifted directly towards where? New Orleans. Take a moment and think about this scenario. Team Obama with HHS and FEMA get together and make sure they do everything Team Bush didn't do in the days and hours leading up to Katrina. The week of the hurricane as it ravages...

Republicans have postponed their national convention in Tampa at least a day because of concerns about Tropical Storm Isaac. The event will kick off Monday morning but the convention will immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement. “Due to the severe weather reports for the Tampa Bay area, the Republican National Convention will convene on Monday August 27th and immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, August 28th. After consulting with Governor Scott, NOAA and local emergency management officials, we are optimistic that we will begin an exciting, robust convention that will nominate the...

From the RNC: Republican National Convention President and CEO Bill Harris made the following statement: “Our chief priority is the safety of the residents of Florida, of those visiting the Convention, and all those in Gulf Coast states who may be impacted by Tropical Storm Isaac. We have been working closely with the campaign, the party, and state and local officials for months to ensure a successful, enjoyable convention. Federal, state and local officials assure us that they are prepared to respond, if needed, and the scheduling changes we are announcing today will help ensure the continued safety of all...

...... Soon, tens of thousands of Republicans will descend upon Tampa Bay, but this area's Democrats say they aren't going anywhere. Their schedules are packed: protests, rallies, vigils, press conferences, a visit from the vice president and even a secret-but-not-so-secret "counter-convention." "We don't want to ruin the convention for delegates," said Ella Coffee of the Hillsborough County Democratic Party, which opened its Tampa campaign office Thursday night. "We just want to be able to have a conversation." Preparation for that conversation starts today with a protest training session in Tampa. The Code Pink-organized gathering, which many area Democrats are expected...

Veteran hurricane-watchers know that, sometimes, a storm that seems to have most of the elements needed for intensification working in its favor — high ocean temperatures, low wind shear, good upper-level outflow — just seems unable to “get its act together,” and never gets nearly as strong as feared. Often times, the culprit is a “patch of dry air,” a sort of micro-scale atmospheric feature that the computer models have a tougher time capturing and forecasting than big, “macro” steering elements like big high pressure ridges and upper-level troughs. Yet patches of dry air can be critical in disrupting the...

Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to dampen the Republican National Convention Monday in Tampa, Florida. National media outlets are having a grand time anticipating a Grand Old Party washout. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn (D) announced Wednesday that he is absolutely prepared to call off the convention next week, with anticipated attendance of 70,000 delegates, party officials, journalists, protesters and others. Buckhorn has not indicated that he would attempt to mitigate liberal protests or a hastily planned Joe "Plugs" Biden visit to Tampa during the convention. Time will tell. Stay tuned... This storm could potentially have a far greater effect than Akin IMO. No matter how strong it is, the media is going to turn this into one of the greatest disasters ever and probably give it to the RNC for throwing a party during it. Obama will be down there handing out water and they'll make him look like a god. People usually rally around the President during disasters. We need to pray this thing turns and stays out of the news.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem ~ Origins Genesis Chapter 24 1. And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. 2. And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: 3. And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: 4. But...

By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, 18even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned." Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death. Hebrews 11:17-19 When you first read the story of God coming to Abraham and telling to offer up his son as a sacrifice, you're puzzled by it. For one thing, why would God do ask such a thing?...

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Soul singer Isaac Hayes said Monday he was quitting his job as the voice of the lusty character "Chef" on the satiric cable TV cartoon "South Park," citing the show's "inappropriate ridicule" of religion. But series co-creator Matt Stone said the veteran recording artist was upset the show had recently lampooned the Church of Scientology, of which Hayes is an outspoken follower. "In ten years and over 150 episodes of 'South Park,' Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslim, Mormons or Jews," Stone said in a statement issued by...
