Jockeying is already underway for the Republican nomination in next year’s presidential election. From what’s apparent so far, it’s a pretty lacklustre field. Of course, not all the contenders have yet declared, so there’s always the possibility (hope?) someone will emerge to electrify the nation — and will appeal to America’s friends who want it economically healthy, strong and confident.
