I AM A RETIRED ARY STAFF SERGEANT WHO SERVED IN VIETNAM ON TWO TOURS. I SERVED IN 1968 AND 1969. I HAVE SEEN THE ATROCITIES AND CARNAGE WAR LEAVES IN ITS WAKE. I AM REPUBLICAN AND I DID VOTE FOR MR.BUSH (BOTH TERMS) I THINK BUSH SENIOR WAS A WAY BETTER LEADER THEN HIS KID. I HATE THE WAY THIS PRESIDENT IS TREATING THIS KIA SOLDIERS MOTHER. HIDING FROM THIS WOMAN IS ONLY HURTING HIS APPROVAL RATE. THIS IS THIS GUYS M.O. HE HID FROM THE VIETNAM DRAFT ALSO, BUT THIS IS FAR WORSE. ALL YOU PEOPLE POSTING ON THIS...

The All-Volunteer Force (AVF), arguably the most successful and widely hailed federal program of the past thirty years, is failing. The conditions that enabled the AVF to thrive through the 1980s and 1990s no longer pertain. The erosion of those conditions, greatly accelerated by the Iraq War, is exposing as false the great unspoken assumption undergirding U.S. policy since the end of the cold war, namely, that the United States can enjoy the prerogatives of being the world’s sole superpower on the cheap.

If we are at war like your socialist neocon idol suggests, then why is he going on vacation. Shouldn't he be manning the command post? AND closing down the borders. Geez, I bet enough illegals swam into Texas just this week to pick a year's supply of lettuce. Yeah, I know, go back to DU or whatever. I just figured that since this is BOT Central, I'd just like to see you Bots try and defend this. And those of you who are eligible for military service shouldn't be here anyway. You should be over in Iraq helping to fight...

I recently read a great book called Amongst The Marines by Steven Preece. I bought a few from the Amazon.com website but this is the one that stood out. Its a perfect example of bullying amongst the military ranks and what this type of behaviour turns people into.

Are We, the People, the Enemy? Nancy Levant Well, they are certainly not listening to us, and that is quite a dilemma. For the last year or two, every time I wrote to Congress and expressed my concerns for things like the Patriot Act, CAFTA, the Endangered Species Act, etc., I get responses that 1) don’t address any of the points I made in my letters, and 2) I am told in no uncertain terms why the Patriot Act, CAFTA, and other legislation will, in fact, be supported. One of my reps actually had the nerve to say that CAFTA...

Excuse me for infiltrating your kingdom, but I need to vent. I just had to pay $2.41 a gallon for gas and I can't afford this. I blame Bush and his illegal wars for this travesty. And since you are part of the remaining 40% of dummies who still support that assclown, I blame you, too. I hope so much the Democrats take back Congress in 2006 so this nazi will be impeached and tossed in the clink. How you idiots can't see this man is pure evil, I don't know. Hopefully, both he and KKKarl Rove will be in...

First vanity after more about 2 years. One question: When it comes to dealing with a very difficult civilization; in terms of the values we hold most dear as a civilization with a Judeo-Christian tradition. Should we not ask ourselves, when we feel mildly threatened - "What would God do?"

On March 7, 2005, Mr.and Mrs. Miranda arrived home, in Monroe, Walton Co., with their newborn (4th child) bundle of joy. While they're enjoying and bonding with Lil. Alyssa, their two sons were excited to have finally their baby sister home. In the meantime, anxciously awaiting for three o'clock to come, Alyssa's 6 year old sister can't wait to come meet her baby sister. However, within two hours of Alyssa being home, a worker from DEFACS arrives with the sheriffs, and warrant to remove Alyssa from the home.

AUSTRALIA has joined the US, China, India and South Korea in a secret regional pact on greenhouse emissions to replace the controversial Kyoto climate protocol. The alliance, which is yet to be announced, will bring together nations that together account for more than 40 per cent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. To be known as the Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate, the grouping will aim to use the latest technologies to limit emissions and to make sure the technologies are available in the areas and industries that need them most. The US and Australia have refused...

Funny thing came to my mind just recently, With all of those stories on Free Republic on how the world hates us and all that? I wonder if someday the world will gang up on the U.S. A old quote I remember my pricipal saying when I was in school was "Whatever bad things you do, Will come back to you harder" and it seems after couple of centuries of bringing hatred, segregation and so on to the world. The world may have had enough, The French hate us, The Muslims, The Chinese, The Russians, Part of South Asia, Cuba,...

Ray McGovern a 27-year senior CIA intelligence analyst has exposed the lies of the Neocons and the Israeli-controlled foreign policy of the United States. The session took an awkward turn when witness Ray McGovern, a former intelligence analyst, declared that the United States went to war in Iraq for oil, Israel and military bases craved by administration “Neocons” so “the United States and Israel could dominate that part of the world.” He said that Israel should not be considered an ally and that Bush was doing the bidding of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. “Israel is not allowed to be...

I am very worried for Karl Rove. Ir appears he is going to jail, and I don't want him to end up in a bad place where bad things could happen to him (what were those bad federal prisons referred to in the movie "Office Space?") Can we start a petition to give to his sentencing judge to have him sent to a nice prison? Maybe he coould go where Martha Stewart went. Or is that just for women. Let's make sure he goes to a nice place, though.

June 26, 2005 Guest Viewpoint: The party's over for betrayed Republican By James Chaney As of today, after 25 years, I am no longer a Republican. I take this step with deep regret, and with a deep sense of betrayal. I still believe in the vast power of markets to inspire ideas, motivate solutions and eliminate waste. I still believe in international vigilance and a strong defense, because this world will always be home to people who will avidly seek to take or destroy what we have built as a nation. I still believe in the protection of individuals and...

Manorialism, commonly, is recognized to have been founded by robbery and usurpation; a ruling class established itself by force, and then compelled the peasantry to work for the profit of their lords. But no system of exploitation, including capitalism, has ever been created by the action of a free market. Capitalism was founded on an act of robbery as massive as feudalism. It has been sustained to the present by continual state intervention to protect its system of privilege, without which its survival is unimaginable. The current structure of capital ownership and organization of production in our so-called "market" economy, reflects...

Before I begin explaining my theory, can we all agree that illegal immigration is a problem that most Americans (even liberals are against it, most of the time) disagree with? I voted for G.W. Bush for his second term because I was most certain that such a "conservative" President would do us all a favor and stop the 15 million illegal immigrants in our country, sneaking into our country at the rate of 3 million per year. After all, if homeland security is so important during this unprecedented magnitude of war, surely securing the borders should be at the top...

UC Merced has adopted a live bobcat kitten at the local zoo to be its "Golden Bobcat" mascot, but animal rights advocates say the cat should rightfully be returned to the wild. Critics say the city-run zoo and the university want to keep the animal for publicity as the new campus prepares for its opening in late August. They also assert that state wildlife biologists failed to ensure that the animal got its best chance to be released from captivity. "This is a little baby that ought to go back to the wild," said Lydia Miller, a longtime opponent of...

Weve all seen and heard of a place called Free Republic, its full of divorced or wife-beating conservative slobs who have the hygene of John Goodman after a long picnic. They thrive on stupid, worthless topics that focus around the "wonder of life" and "lets keep people who cant feel or think alive because were to stubborn to admit that its pretty damn foolish". But above all other abominations in this world is the wretched "Admin Mod", a man of horrible values and the judgement of a meth lab. It is he who makes free republic, well not free at all,...

'Here it is. The smoking gun. The memo that has "IMPEACH HIM" written all over it. 'The top-level government memo marked "SECRET AND STRICTLY PERSONAL," dated eight months before Bush sent us into Iraq, following a closed meeting with the President, reads, "Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." 'Read that again: "The intelligence and facts were being fixed . . . ."
