The All-Volunteer Force (AVF), arguably the most successful and widely hailed federal program of the past thirty years, is failing. The conditions that enabled the AVF to thrive through the 1980s and 1990s no longer pertain. The erosion of those conditions, greatly accelerated by the Iraq War, is exposing as false the great unspoken assumption undergirding U.S. policy since the end of the cold war, namely, that the United States can enjoy the prerogatives of being the world’s sole superpower on the cheap.

They are meeting their quotas. This business of the "Armed Forces failing," along with "the Armed Forces are stretched thin," is right up there with "the worst economy since Hoover."

And it is dangerous to put out these lies for the enemy(S) believes them and so forms plans.

One could say that the Administration should firmly rebut this nonsense with the truth, but I doubt it would do any good anyway. I am amazed to find that there are a good many people who believe this dreck - people who should know better.

Have we ever faced a major challenge to our civilization with this sort of treasonous behavior in our midst?
