Hello to all, My son has been given an assignment for his Sociology class and thought this forum would be a great place for him to receive some varied input. We have tried not to influence our children regarding politics, preferring them to make their own decisions regarding regarding party affiliation and such. This has not been an easy task. Matt and I thought it would be great to pose these questions on this forum to gather input from here. The questions are as follows: 1. What Constitutional rights should be required to be given up if one is sentenced...

French Troops Help in Bin Laden Search Tuesday March 23, 2004 1:31 AM PARIS (AP) - French troops in Afghanistan helped locate a hideout that was likely used by terror leader Osama bin Laden, France's defense minister said in an interview published Tuesday. Michele Alliot-Marie did not give the location of the hideout or say when the fugitive al-Qaida chief was believed to have used it. ``Our men are well-established and know the terrain well,'' Alliot-Marie was quoted as telling L'Express news magazine. ``Thanks to certain information, they in fact recently helped contribute to locating him.'' Raise up the flag of Spain Today our ally, an ally from the beginning, an ally in word AND deed. An ally in blood - was attacked. A country of 40 million suffered 200 dead and 1200 hundred wounded in an attack which the Irish Minister of Justice correctly described as, "Perpetrated by cowards who are morally and ethically bankrupt." These loses are the biggest terrorist attack on the European continent in recent memory. It would be the equivalent of 1,200 dead and 7000 wounded, in our country. The World and mainly our enemies are watching. Will we be like...

Drama at Russian research station North Pole-32 marked Russia's return to polar research Russia is preparing to launch an operation to rescue a group of scientists, after the sinking of their North Pole research base. The 12 researchers were unhurt, but equipment and supplies disappeared into freezing waters as an ice floe beneath the base collapsed late on Wednesday. BAGHDAD - The creation of a new Iraqi military that will defend, not oppress, Iraqi citizens is under way. Many young men are coming forward to train and become part of what will be a 27 battalion, nine brigade, three division Iraqi Army of 45,000 soldiers, said Lt. Col. Damian Heaney, who was deployed from Fort Huachuca last year. Women eventually will be recruited, too. There also will be a small Iraqi Air Corps of about 1,000 people and a six-boat Navy being called the Iraqi Coastal Force, which will have about 1,000 sailors. The developing Iraqi Army will be...

Every time I get on the internet and type in the address for freerepublic.com(so far this is the only address where I receive the error) I get an error that says 'IE has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL' and then the window will automatically close. Can anyone tell me why I receive this error, why it only happens with freerepublic, and what I can do about it? I actually got into the site(in order to post this) by typing in the address to my personal page and then linking to the rest of the site. For some reason the site...

I have been banned from a liberal chat board for the simple reason that I asked for proof of the liberals claims! I am asking all by brother Freepers to visit the board and lets show them what the truth is all about! Letter I got as to why I was banned! Denote that she admits the liberal users do the same thing but they are not banned! The letter: You were banned from the board because of your behavior. You did not come to the board to have discussions. You come there to score points. Your habit of repeatedly...

I need your help. I need your prayers. We just received very bad news about my husband. His scan revealed that he has a large mass on his lung. He'll have more tests Monday. We've only been married 38 years. I'm not ready to part with him yet. I can't breathe. I'm going to fall apart now. Please pray. I need to be strong for him and I'm not. Sincerely, Eternal Warming

Thursday (Jan 22) I see an OB oncologist for a 5" mass found on my right ovary in an ultrasound I underwent to determine the cause of a persistent sharp abdominal pain. I've had a Ca-something blood test (to reveal the presence of cancer?) that I don't know the results of, but my exam with the OB oncologist will start the ball rolling on what the cause of the mass is. Cancer? I don't know, but it's suspected. Family history has mother and grandmother with ovarian cancer. I'm very scared and dread this appointment, full knowing that finding the truth...

I just found out today that I have a 5" mass on my right ovary and am very scared. The doctor said it COULD be ovarian cancer, but it's not certain and she didn't want to scare me (too late). I would very much appreciate your prayers as I will be headed for surgery very soon for removal of the mass (hopefully performed by an OB-oncologist). Thank you and God bless you, as I truly believe in the power of prayer.
