The parade marked the anniversary of the founding of Fatah by Yasser Arafat, who was succeeded by Abbas after his death eight years ago. The scene of masked men shooting rifles was identical with Hamas demonstrations in Gaza over the years. The 36-year-old man was inside his Ford Focus when a gunshot struck him in the head in the 1300 block of East 74th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood at about 12:03 a.m., police said. The party published the statement on its website, indicating that a single gunshot shattered the front door at the office early in the morning. Police Chief John Mooney said 31-year-old Officer Kevin Wilkins was trying to put a rubber sleeve on the grip of his pistol as he sat in his patrol car around 1:30 a.m. today. LOS ANGELES — A security guard shot and killed a man wielding a sword Sunday on the grounds of a Scientology building in Hollywood, police said. The unidentified man approached the guard around noon in the parking lot of the Scientology Celebrity Centre, said Officer April Harding, a police spokeswoman. Just listened to Mike Grahams radio rant on WMAL. He was talking about the gunshot detectors that the DC police want to put up throughout the city. He made a couple of good points. One - that these devices replace the job the overpaid cops of DC are suppose to do. Two - the irony of a gunshot detectors in the most gun law restrictive city in America. And three - that the DC police couldn't find bones in the dumpster behind a KFC. That last one almost had me on the floor.
