http://www.goodeforpresident2012.com/the-issues.html Folks, Obama and Romney are eating off the same menu (although Romney changes his diet from election to election). Virgil Goode is the only acceptable candidate running, IMHO.

On September 4, 2012, Mitt Romney may have lost Virginia and the Presidential election. But Republicans could still win easily. This election will turn on two questions Bill Clinton is pounding on: Who caused the disastrous economic collapse in 2007 and 2008? Will putting a Republican back in the White House give us another economic crash? Republican strategists and consultants have been running away from these questions. Bill Clinton passionately blamed Republicans at the Democrat National Convention. Republicans are aiming for “just enough to squeak by.” But “good enough” is almost never good enough. Now on September 4, Virgil Goode...

The Nader Effect In Play After Virginia's Decision By Scott Bomboy A decision in Virginia to allow Virgil Goode on the presidential ballot could shake up the national election. And Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson has now come into the spoiler picture. For the past few weeks, Goode, the Constitutional party presidential candidate, and Johnson have been afterthoughts in the national presidential campaign involving President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. But Goode won the right on Tuesday to appear on the Virginia ballot, in a move that could hurt Romney’s chances of taking the key swing state in November. And now...

...Virgil Goode has long supported a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, which recently cleared the House. He advocates “currency that is real and backed by gold or silver.” Goode champions “fair and equitable opportunity, but it’s up to you to use it. Government cannot ensure equal results because every individual differs;” An ardent proponent of balancing the budget, our deficits Goode insists, stem from “spending.” “Taxes should be simple and fair … I’m not for increasing income taxes; if we even have an income tax.” The candidate laments “too much federal involvement in our lives” offering as an example...

FREDERICKSBURG — Racing against a Friday deadline to collect enough signatures to make the Virginia ballot, Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode says Mitt Romney is “leading Republicans over a cliff.” Constitution Party presidential candidate and Virginia native Virgil Goode could spoil Mitt Romney’s party in the Old Dominion. Goode, a former six-term GOP congressman from Southside Richmond, told Virginia Watchdog in an exclusive interview he is “cautiously optimistic” about qualifying for the November ballot. The state requires 10,000 signatures from registered voters. Goode says his campaign has submitted nearly 20,000 signatures while going for more to ensure he has...

Former Virginia Congressman Virgil Goode has turned in 20,500 signatures in his quest to make the presidential ballot in his home state, an effort that could potentially derail Republican Mitt Romney's presidential aspirations in a critical battleground state. At least 10,000 valid signatures are due Friday at noon to the State Board of Elections to make the ballot. Election officials will next send the petitions to local registrars to verify the signatures. Goode said he is optimistic he'll qualify, but just this week, the Constitution Party was forced to back out of the presidential race in Pennsylvania after the Republican...

In some conservative quarters, the question is still being asked, “What is our alternative to Mitt Romney?” Some people are suggesting voting for the Libertarian Candidate or even the guy from the Constitution Party who may only end up on the ballot in one or two states. There is an alternative to Mitt Romney, if you are looking for one. Who is it? It is Barack Obama. No, that is not a joke. Absent some almost unprecedented or at least unpredictable event, next January in Washington, it is either going to be Barack Obama or Mitt Romney standing on the...

Former Virginia congressman Virgil Goode says voters should turn to a third party if they want real change in the nation. By Trevor Brown tbrown@wyomingnews.com CHEYENNE -- Voters need to look to a third party if they want to see real change for the country, Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode says. A former congressman from Virginia, Goode stopped here Wednesday during a campaign swing through Wyoming. “If America wants a true grassroots president who will answer the telephone from somebody sitting in this audience … as quick as they would take a call from somebody like Warren Buffett or...

Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode said Tuesday he does not know why the Virginia State Board of Elections is asking for a probe into matters pertaining to his campaign. State officials are keeping quiet on the investigation request. The elections board on Monday voted unanimously to ask Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to probe “suspected petition fraud” on forms that the Constitution Party submitted in efforts to get Goode’s name on the ballot for the Nov. 6 presidential election. In a phone interview, Goode said nobody from either the elections board or the attorney general’s office has contacted him,...

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — Monday the State Board of Elections voted unanimously for the Attorney General’s office to investigate forms submitted by Virgil Goode in his attempt to appear on the ballot as a presidential candidate. A spokesperson for the board confirmed the request and that the Attorney General’s involvement. Goode is a former congressman running for president under the “Constitution Party.” He will appear on the ballot in many other states, but he has yet to qualify for his home state of Virginia. Virgil Goode represented Virginia’s 5th congressional district until he was defeated by Democrat Tom Perriello in...

The Virginia Board of Elections says it is seeking an investigation into ballot signatures involving the campaign of Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode. The former six-term congressman from Rocky Mount is gathering signatures to appear on the ballot in his home state. He’s already on the ballot in more than a dozen other states. The Board on Monday voted unanimously to ask Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to investigate “suspected petition fraud” on forms submitted by the Constitution Party in its efforts to gain ballot access for Goode.

President Barack Obama’s re-election effort is paying close attention to two candidates mounting third-party campaigns for the presidency, believing they could draw votes from Republican rival Mitt Romney and help Obama win a few tightly contested states.

One candidate is Virgil Goode, a former conservative Virginia congressman who is running as a member of the Constitution Party. The other is Gary Johnson, a former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico who is the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee.

Most people outside Southwest Virginia have never heard of Virgil Goode, a former Franklin County congressman with a distinctive drawl who conceivably could decide the presidential election. But he is well known to President Barack Obama's team of political advisers. Goode served six terms in Congress and is gathering signatures to appear on the ballot here as the presidential candidate from the Constitution Party. He's already on the ballot in more than a dozen other states with an anti-immigration, pro-term limit platform he hopes makes a dent with the electorate. It's not likely to be much of a dent, but...

Anyone who visits this website, with any amount of frequency, has seen Posts and comments re: the candidacy of Virgil Goode for President on the Constitution Party ticket. I agree that the Constitution Party is AWESOME!!!! I wish they were a Major Party. After 2012, I'd love to see a movement, by Conservatives, to make that their "Party of choice". But, I don't see that happening before November 6, 2012. Now, my poll question for ALL FReepers is this: Do you think that Virgil Goode will pull enough votes from Romney in the Battleground States such as FL, VA, OH,...

Ben Tribbett, one of the state's top bloggers, got me thinking yesterday. He is known as the guy behind the highly rated political blog Not Larry Sabato. But Ben deserves to be even better known as one of the state's best gurus on election statistics down to the precinct level. Ben has done a lot of mentally "running the numbers" on the potential impact of former Congressman Virgil Goode's run for President as the nominee for the Constitution Party here in Virginia. Ben is likely - and hopefully soon - to do a blog post an Obama-Romney-Goode race here in...

With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on November’s presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections.... ..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him.... ...“Virgil supports rail, and that’s our big issue and he’s with us on that,” said Carey Campbell,...

While many on the right fear that Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode might just draw enough votes in his native Virginia to tip the Old Dominion’s 14 electoral votes from Mitt Romney to Barack Obama, the former six-term congressman made it clear he doesn’t care. Goode, in fact, feels that “in many ways, for conservatives, it might be better to have Obama as president next year rather than Romney.” The 65-year-old Goode spoke to Human Events last week as he and his supporters were in the process of gathering the 10,000 signatures they need to submit before the Aug....

This is a follow up on my post on Virgil Goode and the impact he will have on the presidential race in Virginia. Here are a breakdown of the electoral numbers from the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections and the PPP poll on Virginia released a few days ago: -----------------2004----------2008--------2012 ---------BUSH--KERRY-----MCCAIN--OBAMA--ROMNEY--OBAMA Overall----54---46---------46-----52-----42------50 WHITES-----68---32---------60-----39-----51------41 WHITE% OF ELECT--72%----------70% LIBERALS------17%-------------21% MODERATES-----45%-------------46% CONSERVATIVES-38%-------------33% So folks we see Bush 43 blowing Kerry out of the water among WHITE voters to the tune of 36% and McCain besting Obama by over 20 points albeit in a losing effort. But in a supposedly a much better political...
