He never mentioned him by name, but former President Barack Obama made it clear Friday at a rally in Miami’s Overtown that by electing Andrew Gillum governor of Florida, the state can deliver a blow to President Donald Trump.... On Friday, the faithful jammed into a sweltering, cavernous room at Miami’s Ice Palace Film Studios, several attendees wearing Obama T-shirts they said dated to his first run for the presidency in 2008. Gillum’s campaign said more than 4,000 people attended....

Watched Obama on all three cable news channel networks (they'll all air his diatribe, but will not give one minute to Trump and his rallies unless you switch to CPAN-3, and if you're lucky, they're airing an actual Trump rally in real time!) and I could not gauge crowd size. Cameras did not pan out. Ne'er a peep about this in the media. I've been looking EVERYWHERE to see how many people showed up to this gabfest by diarrhea-mouth. Same thing in Georgia, since Obama held a rally for Abrams at Morehouse College today. Not a peep about crowd size...

As has been the case so many times in recent history, this year’s election in Florida might be the most important race to watch. The governor’s race is a proxy battle that pits a Trump-endorsed congressman against the Bernie Sanders-endorsed mayor of Tallahassee. Indeed, a Trump versus Bernie battle was what many expected to see in the 2016 presidential election – and may very well see in the future. The candidates for Florida governor, Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum, are running on vastly different fiscal policy agendas in a race that could give political observers insight into what...

**SNIP** Gillum, who is running in a hotly contested race against Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), has connections to several organizations that have sponsored anti-Israel events and promoted the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, or BDS, an anti-Semitic movement that wages economic warfare on the Jewish state. Gillum's ties to these groups stand in contrast to his comments on the campaign trail attempting to distance himself from the most radical, anti-Israel elements of the progressive movement. **SNIP** One pro-BDS group, Dream Defenders, has publicly endorsed Gillum, calling him one of the "most progressive" candidates in the country.

Gillum Accuses Ron DeSantis of Anti-Semitism Over David Horowitz A shameless leftist liar and hack hits a new low. November 1, 2018 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. Andrew Gillum, the Bernie candidate aspiring to run Florida, has a compelling platform. Racism. Gillum isn’t saying he’s a racist. Everyone else is a racist. And I do mean everyone. If you call Andrew Gillum “Andrew” instead of Mayor Gillum (Andy currently runs Tallahassee, a city with the highest crime rate in...

A video released on Thursday shows a campaign staffer they identify as Omar Smith using a racial slur and saying the candidate makes promises he knows he can’t keep. “It’s a cracker state,” Smith stated. “Get it? Ask anybody outside of here. You go Port St. Lucie, Orlando … man them crackers ain’t gonna let us do that sh*t dawg. Boy, you crazy?” He went on, saying, “Gillum is a progressive. He is a part of the crazy, crazy, crazies.” Then the undercover reporter asked how Gillum plans to pay for many of his campaign promises, Smith said he couldn’t....

Former GOP Rep. David Jolly (Fla.) is one of a number of Republicans voting for Democrat Andrew Gillum over GOP candidate Ron DeSantis in the Florida gubernatorial election, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Jolly told the newspaper Republicans he knows are voting for Gillum in defiance of President Trump. Former Rep. DeSantis has tied himself closely to the president, who has strongly endorsed the candidate. "I've spoken to Republican voters who under-voted in the 2016 presidential race because they couldn't bring themselves to vote for Hillary Clinton," he said. "But this go-round, they're bringing themselves to vote for Andrew...

A Project Veritas video released Wednesday night deals a shocking blow to the campaign of Florida’s Democrat gubernatorial hopeful Andrew Gillum. Omar Smith, who is a staffer for Gillum, said that if Gillum is elected “None of the programs that people are hoping for would happen.” When questioned on whether or not voters knew that, Smith responded, “That’s not for them to know” and insisted that it be kept a secret. “So, let’s go back to Mr. Gillum’s platform, right?” said Smith, who claims to have attended college with Gillum. “Raise the corporate tax in Florida from 7 to 11...

Lots of Democrats are making it clear that they don’t trust the police. This past week, Andrew Gillum, Democrat gubernatorial nominee in Florida, claimed: “At the time that a law enforcement official has to go to a weapon, to a gun, to a baton, to a taser, then they have already have to go too far by their very presence.”

President Trump on Monday called Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (D) a "thief" as he trumpeted support for Republican Ron DeSantis (R). "In Florida there is a choice between a Harvard/Yale educated man named @RonDeSantisFL who has been a great Congressman and will be a great Governor - and a Dem who is a thief and who is Mayor of poorly run Tallahassee, said to be one of the most corrupt cities in the Country!"

Lotta good news (and a little bad) for the GOP in this multi-state survey from CBS and YouGov but none better than the Florida gubernatorial numbers. Probably no single outcome next month will have more consequences for the 2020 election than who ends up in charge of Florida. A poll taken a few days ago had Ron DeSantis ahead for the first time in two months, which seemed suspicious. Was that really the start of a trend towards Republicans or was it just an outlier? Gillum had led in every one of the 18 other polls taken since September 1....

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey called out Florida’s Democratic nominee for governor, Andrew Gillum, on “Fox & Friends Saturday” for his “disgusting” comments about law enforcement. . . . Gillum appeared on the “Pod Save America” podcast Wednesday” and said “At the time that a law enforcement official has to go to a weapon, to a gun, to a baton, to a taser, they have already had to go too far.”

The Andrew Gillum campaign continues to implode, now with reports that he failed to disclose $4,386 of an “in kind contribution” made by an undercover FBI agent who had been investigating the campaign. Campaign finance laws require all candidates to report all campaign contributions and expenditures to be listed with the state disclosure portal. While there’s usually a 30 day window to file these reports, the FBI agent’s contribution is from 2016. The ironically named Tallahassee Democrat reports: An undercover FBI agent posing as an Atlanta developer seeking to do business with the city of Tallahassee was billed for food...

Conservative investigative journalist Laura Loomer was kicked out of a synagogue hosting an event for Andrew Gillum in Florida on Thursday. Loomer, who is Jewish, along with a small group of conservatives were peacefully waiting to see Gillum, the Democrat nominee for governor in Florida, speak when she was thrown out. Along with Loomer, Jacob Engels of the Central Florida Post was removed, as previously reported. Watch Laura Loomer get removed below: After being removed, Loomer spoke to Big League Politics to decry the actions of the Gillum campaign. As a Jewish woman she was infuriated at being removed from...

TALLAHASSEE — More than 2 million Florida voters have cast ballots and Republicans maintain a solid advantage over Democrats in turnout. The blue wave remains mostly a mirage. More Republicans are "bringing it home" so far, in the words of Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Gillum. Typically, the GOP has led from the start in mail ballots, and it edged ahead of the Democrats in early voting Thursday for the first time as several more GOP counties began early voting , according to county-by-county totals on the state Division of Elections web site. As of Friday, 2,037,610 ballots had been...

Records show that undercover FBI agents gave Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D) a ticket to "Hamilton" in 2016, contrary to his campaign's previous explanation. Former lobbyist Adam Corey's lawyer, Chris Kise, released the records Tuesday, only two weeks before the gubernatorial election in which Gillum narrowly leads his Republican opponent, former Rep. Ron DeSantis, according to RealClearPolitics. The documents were originally reported by the Tampa Bay Times, and Kise forwarded them to The Hill. Text messages between Gillum and former lobbyist Adam Corey, who set up meetings with the agents, according to the Times, show Gillum knew the tickets came...

Barely two days after Democrat Andrew Gillum was leading in most polls for governor of Florida, a Strategic Research Associates poll conducted for Gray Television and released Wednesday showed Republican and former Rep. Ron DeSantis pulling into the lead, 48 to 45 percent. The margin of error was +/-3.46 percent. The poll is the first since the primaries last month to put the conservative DeSantis ahead of Bernie Sanders supporter Gillum. Virtually every expert who spoke to Newsmax agreed that Gillun was damaged by recent revelations Gillun had misstated that he reimbursed a lobbyist for a ticket to the Broadway...

DeSantis is on his toes. He has to be. Gilliam is attacking and not giving an inch. Gilliam is lying and won't answer the questions directly. Gilliam is perfect for keeping his supporters riled up without any facts. It's a shame that he can get away with the lying and obfuscation but it is what it is. When an uninspiring Republican is in office and things not going well advantage goes to the Democrat. Hopefully DeSantis will win but the shame is that Gilliam has a chance.
