Caitlyn Jenner, a transgender woman who is now a California gubernatorial candidate in the likely recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom, said in an interview that illegal aliens should have a pathway to citizenship. “I am for legal immigration, okay,” Jenner said in an interview with Dana Bash set to air on CNN on Monday night. “What’s been happening on the border was honestly one of the reasons I decided to run for governor.” "I was watching people dying come across the river, kids in cages — whatever you want to call them,” said Jenner, a reality TV star and...

A $25 million COVID-19 testing lab built by the state of California is a nightmare of sloppiness, according to a new report. The report from KOVR-TV in Sacramento includes a comment from an unnamed whistleblower who told the station, “That lab should be shut down because they’re jeopardizing people’s lives.” The lab opened in Valencia in October as Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom proclaimed its wonders. “This new laboratory will allow California to ensure its testing capacity is timely, equitable and cost-effective — just when Californians need it most,” he said in a statement. Newsom said the lab, operated in partnership...

VIDEO The Governor Gavin Newsom recall effort in California which has been gaining momentum is sure to highlight the hypocrisy of the the Democrats when they make every effort to carefully verify each and every signature on the petitions. Yes, the same Democrats who refused to allow signature verification for the mail in ballots for the November 2020 election will shift gears to go full signature verification in the near future.

So Gavin Newsom of California has gotten excited about masks again, just as Joe Biden and assorted leftists have made it mask-wearing the most recitable part of the Democrats' party platform in the wake of President Trump's diagnosis of COVID. Joe Biden is out preaching for the wearing of masks, but for Newsom, merely wearing them at the grocery store is no longer enough. Here's his new one: Going out to eat with members of your household this weekend? Don't forget to keep your mask on in between bites. Do your part to keep those around you healthy. #SlowtheSpreadhttps://t.co/snYe5v55Rw pic.twitter.com/Y4fcDO5Zke— Office of the...

On Saturday, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill SB-145 into law. This law “exempts from mandatory registration under the act a person convicted of certain offenses involving minors if the person is not more than 10 years older than the minor and if that offense is the only one requiring the person to register.” The bill was introduced by State Senator Scott Wiener (D), who applauded Newsom’s legislative endorsement, saying “Newsom’s signing of the bill ended “blatant discrimination” against LGBTQ youth in California by treating them “the exact same way that straight young people have been treated since 1944.””The...

Far Left Liberal Progressive governor of California, Gavin Newsom, got in front of the cameras yesterday and made a ‘very serious’ statement about the raging wildfires currently plaguing their state. He said “The debate is over around climate change. Just come to the state of California, observe it with your own eyes,” a grinning Newsom told reporters while touring the fire-ravaged North Complex near Oroville. “It’s not an intellectual debate, it’s not even debatable.” Absolute rubbish, to say the least. Let’s begin a real debate, shall we? Always makes me laugh, seeing as most Liberals are either atheist or agnostic,...

The scale of the contract with Bear Mountain Development Co. LLC came to light Friday when state officials, pressed by The Times, confirmed details of the deal, which is one of the largest made by California in its scramble for protective equipment. Former Alabama Atty. Gen. Troy King is listed on Bear Mountain’s formation record as president of the Montgomery, Ala., company. Under one of its three contracts with California, Bear Mountain was supposed to deliver 400 million three-ply surgical masks and 200 million face shields, according to purchase order records the state provided to The Times.

Defying the stay-at-home order. That's what non-essential employees at a prominent Silicon Valley tech company said their bosses are telling them to do. Workers at Broadcom in San Jose said they were ordered to return to work Monday to perform jobs they believe can be done from home. Broadcom as of Monday afternoon has not responded to NBC Bay Area's requests for comment on this story.

Pelosi has overplayed her hand time and again, and her insistence that Trump is an illegitimate president has presented Americans with a stark either-or-choice. They wisely rejected impeachment as too radical, which is something she initially said herself before succumbing to the mob mentality. Now she has another scenario to create a panic that our President is not ready and his Coronavirus response was very bad. Within hours of President Trump’s decision to restrict travel from China on Jan. 31, top Democrats and media figures immediately derided the move as unnecessary and xenophobic — and they are now beating a...

This has gone on long enough. This was sold as 14 days, then the new pitch became Easter and "maybe" May 1, 2020. As I drive around the San Francisco Bay Area I see restaurant after restaurant "CLOSED!!!" I do not see how they come back. That is, I don't see how most of them come back. It takes so much capital to open a restaurant and then you are guessing how many people will come in that day, what your rush hours are and what will they order. That kills 30-40% of the restaurants currently closed. There are new...

A paddleboarder was arrested in Malibu Thursday after ignoring lifeguards’ orders to get out of the ocean amid social distancing rules, authorities said. The lifeguards flagged down deputies for assistance, but the man ultimately chose to stay in the water alongside the Malibu Pier for about 30 to 40 minutes, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said in a Facebook post. Deputies summoned their patrol boat from Marina Del Rey, and the man swam to shore once it arrived, officials said. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of disobeying a lifeguard and violating Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay at home order, a...

President Trump warned California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday that he needs to fix the homeless crisis in his state or the federal government will have to step in. “Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California,†he tweeted. “If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!†Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California. President Trump issued a warning to California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday, threatening federal intervention if Newsom is unable to solve his state's homeless crisis. "Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California. If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!" Trump tweeted. The Golden State has led the nation in the number of homeless people with an estimated total of over 129,972 in January 2018, according to a Department of Housing and Urban Development [HUD] report. Just over 68 percent of the homeless population in...

Citing untenable situations such as the wildfires aggravated by government policy and inaction, preemptive power shutoffs by a bankrupt power company, squatters living and crapping in city streets, high priced gasoline, emergency rooms straight out of Dante’s inferno, grossly underperforming public schools, an antiquated highway system and unfettered swarming looters, Victor Davis Hanson asks “Has California Becoming Premodern?” Lights from San Francisco are seen in the distance from an Oakland neighborhood where the power was shut off by PG&E earlier this week I think Professor Hanson intended it as a rhetorical question but the answer of course is yes: California...

Tweet from Governor Newsom’s office:You didn’t expect him to call them blackouts did you? Or brownouts?Response was immediate. Even from normally like-minded allies. Tweet from Seth Mandel of the Washington Examiner: Power to the People! Except of course in states that spend all of your money on electric trains to nowhere, subsidies for wind, solar and electric car (that run on, duh, electricity) companies instead of proper oversight of your Public Service Commission that is supposed to be providing oversight of the state’s public utility companies. In case I’m unclear: oversight would include verifying that the monopolistic companies are providing...

Going solar isn’t necessarily any protection from California’s new “planned” power outages, and local residents and businesses are enduring a lot more than just a few inconveniences. Bloomberg’s Chris Martin has a story on California’s troubles with one of my favorite headlines ever: “Californians Learning That Solar Panels Don't Work in Blackouts.” Apparently, many of California’s would-be Earth-savers had no idea that just putting solar panels on their roofs doesn’t mean they’ll have power when PG&E switches it off. As Martin explains:
-
Power shutoff instituted by PG&E because potential "Diablo" winds might bring down their transmission lines and trigger catastrophic fires. I’m so old that I remember when the prime responsibility of your state’s Public Service Commission was ensuring the public utilities under their jurisdiction were physically and financially capable of delivering the services they were chartered to provide. Accordingly, the PSC role was to balance citizens' need for reliable services and reasonable rates with the need for utilities to earn a reasonable return on investment. When both sides of this contract begin to operate outside the parameters of their respective...

Recently, California Gov. Gavin Newsom — who makes former Gov. Jerry Brown look like a conservative — declared that the national Republican Party is headed for the “waste bin of history” because of its policies. This from one who wants universal (taxpayer-supported) health care for undocumented migrants in California and taxpayer-supported preschool for all 3-year-olds by the same public school system that is failing elementary and high school students, with no solution for the many homeless in cities of the Golden State. California can be saved from the progressives seeking the Democratic presidential nomination by broadening the base of commonsense...
