Six planes funded by a Glenn Beck-founded charity were identified as some of evacuation aircrafts being grounded by the Taliban in Afghanistan, a report said. The flights chartered by Mercury One cost the organization $750,000 each and are currently sitting empty at an airport in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, an official with a non-governmental organization working on the evacuation told Newsweek. More than 1,600 people, including over 100 Americans are expected to evacuate the country on the planes, which were chartered from Afghanistan’s largest private airline, Kam Air, the report said. The NGO official told Newsweek that nobody is aboard...

There are “portions” of 9 central-southern regions which could be affected by caduta of fragments of the Chinese space rocket ‘Long March 5B’: Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. The return to earth is scheduled for 2:24 am on 9 May, with a time window of uncertainty of ñ 6 hours. The indications come from the Operational Committee of the Civil Protection convened by the head of the Department, Fabrizio Curcio. The advice is to stay indoors and not in open places since “it is unlikely that the fragments cause the collapse of buildings.”

Wright and another man, identified as Emajay Maurice Driver, a high school acquaintance, had both been charged with first-degree aggravated robbery in a December 2019 incident in Osseso, Minn., Hennepin County District Court documents show. Wright and Driver went to a party at an apartment in the 600 block of North Oaks Drive in Osseo – about 5 miles from Brooklyn Center, where Wright was fatally shot. Around 2:30 a.m., two women at the home told Wright and Driver they needed to leave, but the two men said they did not have a ride, the documents say. The women reportedly...

Many who opposed President Trump or claims of massive, widespread voter fraud are laughing today. Many Trump supporters are feeling betrayed. These strong feelings stem from a statement in a motion filed by Sidney Powell’s attorneys asking the case made against her by Dominion Voting Systems be dropped. Yet in the same sentence, the true intent of the statement is clear. Nobody should be laughing and nobody should feel betrayed. The statement that’s getting latched onto by people on social media states, “reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact,” referencing Powell’s claims that Dominion Voting Systems was being run...

Never attribute malice to that which can be explained by the bureaucracy of the system; perhaps that is the biggest lesson learned from my recent travels and briefings. As incredible as it might sound, those who run government investigations do not necessarily have their arms around the specifics, or the bigger picture. It is quite amazing to talk to people who have been in the proverbial weeds for years only to realize the rag-tag-misfits have more comprehensive information system than multi-million government enterprises. So too should this message serve as a warning. Again, as incredulous as it sounds, do not...

The South Texas border city of Laredo has ordered all residents to wear some sort of face mask or face cover in public buildings and while pumping gas starting Thursday. The new restrictions come at a time when the city deals with a spike in cases, which now stands at 53 cases, and three deaths linked to COVID-19 — the most in South Texas. During an emergency meeting on Tuesday night, the Laredo City Council voted to require that face masks that cover the nose and mouth be worn when entering a public building, pumping gas, riding in public transportation...

During the debate on the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill, one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in contemporary history, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did something appalling. With the agreement of both Republicans and Democrats in House leadership, the Speaker blocked a recorded vote on the bill. It is an old leadership trick to protect members from controversial votes by not forcing them to take a position. In retrospect, this is going to be one of the most important votes the sitting members of Congress will ever take, yet they came up with excuses not to...

The White House violated the law by temporarily withholding U.S. military aid to Ukraine, said a Government Accountability Office report published on Thursday. “In the summer of 2019, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) withheld from obligation funds appropriated to the Department of Defense (DOD) for security assistance to Ukraine,” the eight-page watchdog report read. “Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law. OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act (ICA). The withholding was...

An Inspector General report for the Social Security Administration flew under the radar when it was issued in August, and the administration refused to answer Breitbart News’s inquiry about the findings that reveal $11.6 million in payments were paid to dead people in Puerto Rico. The findings of the report stated: SSA issued approximately $11.6 million in payments after death to 149 beneficiaries and 4 representative payees who died in Puerto Rico from January 1992 through December 2016. Identifying and correcting these discrepancies will prevent approximately $1.4 million in additional improper payments after death over the next 12 months. We...

Full header: Dems explicitly vote to condemn 'religious liberty' Claim faithful have used beliefs 'to threaten civil rights' Democrats, who who famously booed the mention of God in their party platform, now have condemned "religious liberty" and praised the religiously "unaffiliated." Former special counsel Robert Mueller condemned President Donald Trump's tweets touting WikiLeaks' stolen emails during the 2016 campaign, in what were his sharpest comments criticizing the President's conduct. "Problematic is an understatement in terms of what it displays in terms of giving some hope or some boost to what is and should be illegal activity," Mueller said after Rep. Mike Quigley, an Illinois Democrat, read Trump's tweets aloud during the House Intelligence Committee hearing, the second of two high-profile public hearings Wednesday. Mueller also called Donald Trump Jr.'s Twitter messages exchanged with WikiLeaks "disturbing" and said they were subject to...

With chants of “Yes we can” raining from the rafters, House Democrats on Tuesday powered through legislation to cancel deportations and grant future citizenship rights to millions of people, in a vote that nodded more toward 2020 politics than to substantive policymaking. The 237-187 vote was momentous, marking the first major legalization to pass the House in nearly a decade, and underscoring the ground Democrats feel they have gained on an issue both sides expect to be at the center of the presidential election. With President Trump calling for action to solve crisis at the border, Democrats countered by casting...
