Four years ago a seemingly invincible US senator came within a percentage point of losing his seat in an unexpectedly close election. Mark Warner was pretty moderate as far as Democrats go, a good fit for a state, Virginia, that had drifted out of the Republican column in the last two presidential elections and just elected a full slate of Democratic statewide officials a year before. But midterms are when presidents and their parties get rebuked, and Warner, a telecom millionaire who had once been tipped as presidential contender, took his support for granted. The Republican, lobbyist Ed Gillespie, was...

Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) former campaign spokesperson said that it’s “possible” for Cruz to lose his reelection bid to Democrat Beto O’Rourke. Rick Tyler, who served as Cruz’s former communications director during his 2016 presidential run, appeared on MSNBC Sunday and admitted that Cruz could lose in the red state. “As the former Cruz strategist, it does seem as though the signs are that Ted Cruz might actually lose this race?” MSNBC host Kasie Hunt asked. Tyler said that even in a predominately Republican state, O’Rourke is posing a real challenge for the senator. “It’s possible

Washington (CNN)Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz told supporters at a rally on Saturday that Democrats wanted to make Texas like California and listed off a few things as stereotypical staples of the blue state. "We are seeing tens of millions of dollars flooding into the state of Texas from liberals all over the country who desperately want to turn the state of Texas blue," Cruz said. "They want us to be just like California, right down to tofu and silicon and dyed hair." Cruz added that his wife, Heidi Cruz, was "a California vegetarian." "She's wonderful, but I brought her...

Ted trying to lighten things up and be a bit more "likeable" I think. He's introduced by his dad.(heavy Hispanic accent never hurts in TX I suppose) Think it might be Ted's HS. He talks about the Kavanaugh hearings including Spartacus which is where the vid is cued up to. Seems like a small venue and the audio goes bad at times. He needs some money behind him or something. Maybe it's just a small/medium sized town. I suppose that's how it is running a State campaign. Looks like he's hitting quite a few of them. https://www.eventbrite.com/o/ted-cruz-for-senate-8321610348 Sometimes 4 stops...

President Donald Trump’s budget chief, Mick Mulvaney, expressed confidence to Republican donors Saturday that the party would overcome a Democratic “movement of hate” in November, but he acknowledged Republicans could lose races where they have nominated candidates who are not seen as “likable” enough, like Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

President Donald Trump announced Friday that he'll come to Texas in October to hold a "major rally" for Sen. Ted Cruz in the biggest stadium in Texas. I'm picking the biggest stadium in Texas we can find. As you know, Ted has my complete and total Endorsement. His opponent is a disaster for Texas - weak on Second Amendment, Crime, Borders, Military, and Vets!" Trump tweeted. They've become close allies since Trump's election. Cruz has wrapped himself in the president's tax and immigration policies and lauded him for stocking federal courts with conservatives. Cruz responded:...."Terrific! Texas will be glad to...

Six percent of voters remain undecided.

during a Tuesday interview with SiriusXM hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak on Breitbart News Tonight. Mansour asked Cruz, “Would you be supportive of President Trump if he ran for reelection in 2020?” Cruz replied, “I certainly assume so. I was supportive of and campaigned for President Trump in 2016, and I am very encouraged with the substantive policy victories we are getting, whether it is an historic tax cut bill, whether it is regulatory reform that’s unleashing jobs, whether it is repealing the Obamacare individual mandate — which I led the fight to do in the United States Senate...
