The Wisconsin Association of FFA, formerly the Future Farmers of America, has collected and shipped 7,000 pairs of shoes to Iraq to help Iraqis in need. The idea for "Operation Stand Solid" came from Sgt. First Class Gary Olson, a Fort Atkinson agricultural teacher who served in Iraq as a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard. It has come to our attention that there are several unscrupulous business and organizations that are misinforming FFA, 4H students and others that : "The Texas Animal Health Commission requires all producers to register a premises identification" We all know this is false information and scare tactics. It is our understanding that TAHC has contracted numerous business and associations to be paid advocates for NAIS. Just got off the phone with Jreimer! It's a Boy! 8lbs 2oz, 20 1/2 inches long born this morning at 1:10am! Mom is doing fine and Dad is proud!

<p>On a windy afternoon, two Lincoln High School students are stabbing a shovel into the earth, looking for a good place to bury a dead raccoon. On the adjacent field, a dozen teenagers are feeding cattle and sheep, while still more students are stacking bales of hay in the barn.</p>

<p>Ellen Brumley, 11, of Escalon now knows that her brother Brett's pig Denise will not meet the fate of many of the livestock at the State Fair, which are sold for food. The Brumley family has decided that Denise will be more valuable as a breeder. Ellen and Brett are 4-H members.</p>
