For Boris Johnson this was his darkest hour. A moment for sombre reflection, as haunting as the sounds of muffled drums and Chopin's funeral march. The grim news that had broken just moments before – that the death toll from the pandemic had surpassed 100,000 Britons – had left the Prime Minister visibly shaken. His face was flushed, his hair seemed whiter than ever. This terrible milestone had, of course, been some time coming. Yet even this accomplished wordsmith struggled to summon the mots justes for the occasion. He intoned how hard it was 'to compute the sorrow contained in...

We have all lived to see the end of the American experiment. What a truly sad, sad time. The promises, hopes, dreams, and especially our freedoms will soon be nothing more than past memories. The sad truth is that by the time most people realize the evil they have enabled, it will be far too late. I will have no sympathy nor offer any compassion or condolences to them when they discover the pain of their ignorance. R.I.P. USA

Like many others who have been glued to political blogs and podcasts since election night, I have been constantly checking for any news that might "break the dam" and, effectively, "stop the steal" in it's tracks. And like many others, it's been a 7 week long emotional rollercoaster, with some occasion highs, but an overall sense of frustration and anger. After weeks of public hearings, rumors about gunfights between the CIA and Special Forces, speculation about the DNI report, Electoral college challenges, SCOTUS, etc, etc, I feel that it's time to take a step back, recalibrate, and try to see...

IF IF IF Trump is forced to concede... Free Republic ^ | 11/14/20 | M. Thatcher Posted on 11/14/2020, 12:24:26 AM by M. Thatcher …this is what I’d love to hear from the President. I want it defiant and optimistic - to give those who love America a wonderful outlet and channel bitterness into future victory. "As I acknowledge the political reality that there is no longer a path to re-election... I have directed my campaign team to immediately form a new Party: the MAGA Party. I am a builder. And with you, we have built a beautiful new movement...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — President Donald Trump lost a Wisconsin lawsuit Friday seeking to disqualify more than 221,000 ballots and overturn his loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the battleground state, the latest in a string of legal defeats. Reserve Judge Stephen Simanek ruled against every argument Trump made challenging ballots in the state’s two largest counties, saying the election was properly administered and there was no wrongdoing as the president alleged.

The Michigan appeals court turned down an appeal Friday from President Donald Trump's campaign in a challenge to how absentee ballots were handled in Detroit and other issues. In a brief order, the court said the lawsuit fails because Michigan's election results, including Joe Biden's 154,000-vote victory over Trump, were certified on Nov. 23, a week before the campaign filed an appellate brief. The court said the president's only recourse was a recount, but that has passed, too. “Because plaintiff failed to follow the clear law in Michigan relative to such matters, their action is moot,” Judge Stephen Borrello said...

Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy. Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here. The Trump Presidential Campaign asserts that Pennsylvania’s 2020 election was unfair. But as lawyer Rudolph Giuliani stressed, the Campaign “doesn’t plead fraud. . . . [T]his is not a fraud case.” Instead, it objects that Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State and some counties restricted poll watchers and let voters fix technical defects in their mail-in ballots. It offers nothing more. This case is not about whether...

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Thursday that he will leave the White House if the Electoral College formalizes President-Elect Joe Biden’s victory — even as he insisted such a decision would be a “mistake” — as he spent his Thanksgiving renewing baseless claims that “massive fraud” and crooked officials in battleground states caused his election defeat. “Certainly I will. But you know that,” Trump said Thursday when asked whether he would vacate the building, allowing a peaceful transition of power in January. But Trump — taking questions for the first time since Election Day — insisted that “a...

As my title suggests, everyday while browsing through FR and reading some of the threads, sometimes I am up and sometimes I am down. However, I think about something that happened in Maryland back in 1994 that pushes me slightly in the half-empty camp. Ellen Sauerbrey ran against Paris Glendening (affectionately known as Spendening) for Governor and lost. However, she made the claim that the machines being used were switching votes over to Glendening. Lo and behold, she was able to provide evidence. Then a Maryland court threw her case out because the court stated she provided the evidence a...

After weeks of delay, the head of the General Services Administration informed President-elect Joe Biden on Monday that the official governmental transition process has been approved. GSA Administrator Emily Murphy said in a letter that Biden, whom she referred to as "the apparent president-elect," is now able to access millions of dollars in federal funds and other resources to begin his transition to power. In her letter, Murphy also denied that she had been under pressure from the White House to delay the process. “I have dedicated much of my adult life to public service, and I have always strived...

Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine said she is expanding the state’s order on wearing masks to cover all outdoor and indoor areas. In a news conference Tuesday, Levine said the mask order covers requires wearing face coverings at schools, gyms, doctors offices, public transportation and anywhere food is packaged or served. Essentially, the order calls for wearing masks when leaving your household. “We must all be diligent in wearing masks all the time,” Levine said. Levine announced the expanded mask order as part of a handful of “targeted” and “strategic” steps to try and slow the spread of the...

Hypersonic attack drones will definitely exist, the question simply is when. The prospect of surveillance drones or armed unmanned systems catapulting through space at five times the speed of sound, is already on the radar at high levels at the Pentagon. ypersonic attack drones will definitely exist, the question simply is when. It is past time for some despair. DJT was not allowed the extra four years needed to pull us back from the brink. He failed in that. The communists have succeeded. The “struggle” for the individual has now been lost. And, the history of that struggle, that hope, will be erased. Ignore semantics games. Don’t doubt this: Progressive=DemocraticSocialist=Socialist=Communist/Marxist. Think on ducks: looks like, sounds like, yada, yada. If a progressive touts BS like the GreenNewDeal, remember that it had been a platform of the US communist party for ages. Whatever they call themselves, their stated goals are the same: put themselves...

The United States is sleepwalking into what could become the largest coronavirus outbreak of the pandemic so far. In the past week alone, as voters prepare to go to the ballot box, about one in every 1,000 Americans has tested positive for the virus, and about two in every 100,000 Americans have died of it. Today, the United States reported 73,103 new cases, the third-highest single-day total since the pandemic began, according to the COVID Tracking Project at The Atlantic.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is promising that, if elected, he would urge state and local governments to issue mask mandates nationwide. The Democrat nominee, who has shifted on his support for a federal mask mandate, told supporters in Delaware on Friday that it was vital for the government to implement a “national strategy to position our country to finally get ahead of this virus.” As part of the strategy, the former vice president promised not only to get a spending bill, that deals with both the economic and public safety aspects of the novel coronavirus, through Congress by January,...

A sizable share of Americans eschewed the major-party dichotomy and voted for third-party candidates in 2016, helping deliver the White House to President Donald Trump. But four years later, almost all of the likely voters who opted against both the Republican and Democratic nominees last time around aren’t planning to do so again, Morning Consult Political Intelligence tracking shows — and a slim majority are siding with former Vice President Joe Biden. Daily tracking of likely voters conducted Oct. 16-18 found 53 percent of likely voters who opted for someone other than a major-party nominee in 2016 said they’re backing...

Is it just me, or was there more at play in this Hunter Biden laptop matter? From what we know, the laptop came into the possession of the Mac Shop owner through abandonment by Hunter Biden. The shop owner discovered potential evidence of numerous crimes. Through an intermediary, he contacted the FBI in September of 2019. Some time in November, the FBI came out and made a copy of the hard drive, but they left the laptop. Then on December 9, 2019, the Federal District Court of Delaware issued a subpoena directing the FBI to take possession of the laptop....

You can judge for yourself the snickering delight of the chattering media, and some Democrats, at his positive test, and those of other GOP politicians. This is perhaps understandable, although those who are actively pulling for their death are behaving in a very ugly manner. But rather than dwelling on that, I am writing about how versions of what we have seen with the President, his staff, and others around them are being re-enacted across the country in schools and in businesses.

Trump is a fount of conspiracy theories, disinformation, and childish fantasizing, and his White House is filled with bumbling sycophants who can't keep their stories straight. Trump desperately wants us to believe his rosy projections for a complete and imminent COVID recovery. But Americans, rightfully, don't think he or his White House can be trusted. The details of the Commander-in-Chief being laid low by a dreaded disease mere weeks before an election are crucial information in the public interest. The president and his deputies work for the people. They owe us the truth. Even if Trump's people weren't the Keystone...

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham's reelection race to 'toss-up' status, as he faces an energetic opponent and President Donald Trump takes on severe headwinds – a flashing warning sig for Republicans seeking to keep control of the Senate. The news, in a race ranking by a respected race-tracker, comes amid an onslaught of bad polling for President Donald Trump, who is battling COVID-19 at the White House this week. A new Quinnipiac University poll has Democrat Joe Biden leading Trump 51-40 in battleground Florida – a jump over a persistent but narrower Biden lead in a state Trump carried in 2016....
