It seems like only yesterday that we were talking about how the Hallmark Channel was throwing themselves into a social media firestorm by first accepting and then rejecting an advertisement from wedding planning company Zola featuring the nuptials of two brides. Oh, that’s right… it was yesterday. Well, that decision lasted less than a day. Faced with a growing backlash from Hollywood and on social media, the network turned around and said they would be accepting the advertisement(s) after all. (CBS News) The Hallmark Channel on Sunday moved to reinstate ads featuring a same-sex couple that had been removed...

The idea of 2020 hopefuls Joe Biden or Pete Buttigieg facing off against President Trump next November would be a tragedy as the Democratic party continues to forge ahead without a true frontrunner, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., said during a Thursday interview with The Intercept’s “Deconstructed” podcast. Omar was asked about the field of 2020 candidates and whether she preferred Biden or Buttigieg. She answered, “None,” before characterizing their hypothetical nominations as “tragic.” Host Mehdi Hasan asked.“But if you had to pick one? If one of them is the candidate for your party, who would you rather it be?” Omar...

Western civilization was founded on a set of philosophies that focuses strongly on the sanctity of individuals and their power of logic and reason. This belief led to a desire to trust things that could be proven to be true or legitimate, from government to science. Judeo-Christian morality has formed the basis of most Western notions of ethics and behavioral standards. Thus, the attack on Western civilization must begin with the attack on the church and Christian values, and, just as important, the family unit. The reason why the church, Christian values, and family are targets of the left is...

A 28-year-old Arkansas woman is claiming that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden is the father of her 10-month-old child — and she’s suing to prove it. Lunden Alexis Roberts claims Hunter Biden fathered her child while he was in a relationship with his own late brother’s wife (former sister-in-law), Hallie Biden. You read that right. Hunter Biden began dating his brother’s widow in 2017 and they just split up a couple months ago. Page Six reported: Lunden Alexis Roberts, 28, filed a petition for paternity and child support against Joe Biden’s lawyer son, saying she gave birth to his kid,...

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Politicians across the world and across the ideological spectrum like to invoke “family values” when talking about education, the welfare system, taxes and pretty much anything else. But how many of them actually put their money where their mouths are? The current Hungarian government under Prime Minister Viktor Orban prides itself on its conservative platform - low immigration, lots of incentives for marriage and families, and promotion of the nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage whenever possible. Some have panned this as “right-wing nationalism,” but the administration is touting the strong family outcomes that have taken hold over the near-decade...

The group of six from Guatemala was a family unit, including three children: a 2-year-old, a 7-year- old, and a 10-year-old. All surrendered to U.S. Border Patrol agents who arrived on scene. One child suffered a facial injury, and was treated by agents. All were taken into custody.

Move over Back Obama: Hillary Clinton isn’t going away, either. As the midterms approach, the throwbacks of the Democrat Party are taking center stage. This week, Clinton will be appearing at a "Lesbians Who Tech" conference in New York, according to a promotional video put out by the group. The video features a montage of clips of Clinton speaking to what she thinks are gay values. "Grab your pantsuits," the video challenges attendees. Isn't that oppressive to all of those LGBTQ nudists out there? The video states there will be 3,500 "lesbians, LGBTQ women, non-binary, allies" in attendance. Meanwhile, Barack...

Actress Cynthia Nixon has been routinely described as trying to become the state’s first lesbian governor. But Nixon actually doesn't self-identify as a lesbian. She considers herself queer, campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said. Queer - one of the Qs in the LGBTQ movement, along with questioning—encompasses people who don't necessarily feel they fall under any specific label. Queer for decades had been used as a derisive term to attack nonheterosexuals. But in recent years, the term has been reclaimed by some - especially younger people - in the LGBTQ community. Hitt declined to discuss the reasons why Nixon identifies as...

Speaking of his faith, Mr. Carter said in his career as a politician he never ran across "any really serious conflicts between my political obligations and my religious faith." Asked about gay marriage, he replied that it is "no problem with me. I think everybody should have a right to get married regardless of their sex." Regarding whether he thinks Jesus would approve of gay marriage, Carter replied "I don’t have any verse in Scripture," but added, "I believe that Jesus would approve of gay marriage." "I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere...

A prominent right-wing rabbi was invited to speak at an event organized by a faction within Education Minister Naftali Bennett's Jewish Home party, and promptly outraged most secular Israelis. Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira (pictured) is head of the Ramat Gan Yeshiva, and has often spoken out against homosexuality, insisting that such tendencies can be overcome with proper therapy. At Tuesday's event, Shapira let loose: "We are not homophobes, and we are not phobic. We do not live out of fear, and we are not scared. We are courageous people, we are the Land of Israel's heroes, and we are not scared...

Los Angeles police are investigating almost two dozen cases of alleged criminal sexual misconduct connected to multiple people within the entertainment industry, a senior department official told NBC News. [Snip] Allegations span from misdemeanor sexual battery to felony rape, and in many cases, there are multiple complaints lodged against the same individual, the official said. With calls from victims continuing to roll in, the number of investigations is expected to rise. [Snip] The LAPD has also collected nearly 30 "courtesy reports" that take a victim's statement before referring the case to law enforcement agencies in other parts of the country...

California became the first state in America to legally recognize a third gender after Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown signed the legislation Sunday. State drivers' licenses, birth certificates, and other identity documents will now allow residents to check "non-binary" rather than just male or female, the Sacramento Bee reported Monday. [Snip] Many in the transgender community reported difficulty traveling when the gender on licenses and other identification conflicted with their appearance ...

Too few Americans are qualified for the jobs available. Male working-age labor-force participation is at Depression-era lows. Opioid abuse is widespread. Homicidal violence plagues inner cities. Almost half of all children are born out of wedlock, and even more are raised by single mothers. Many college students lack basic skills, and high school students rank below those from two dozen other countries. The causes of these phenomena are multiple and complex, but implicated in these and other maladies is the breakdown of the country’s bourgeois culture. That culture laid out the script we all were supposed to follow: Get married...

LGBTQ activists in cities across the country are calling for city officials to create "rainbow crosswalks" to "honor the LGBTQ community." "Rainbow crosswalks" are public crosswalks that have been repainted in rainbow colors, which have been adopted by the LGBTQ community as a symbol of greater acceptance and rights for LGBTQ causes and beliefs. Activists are urging local lawmakers to create the crosswalks through the use of petitions. Currently, one of the cities targeted is Chicago. [Snip] Washington, D.C., already installed temporary rainbow crosswalks honoring transgender persons earlier this year, and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced this week the...

There are greeting cards to celebrate and support people through all stages of life, from graduations to career changes to birthdays. But until recently, these sentimental notes haven't always included words of encouragement for transgender people or offered congratulations for a major event in their lives: transitioning. That, however, is now changing: Hallmark has started selling cards geared specifically toward the transgender community. [Snip] One in every 137 teens is transgender, according to a UCLA School of Law study published earlier this year. Due to societal stigma, trans people - and trans youth in particular - have a higher...

A decline in subscribers and higher programming costs at cash-cow ESPN weighed on shares of Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) on Tuesday, overshadowing a quarterly profit that topped Wall Street estimates. Investors have been closely watching how ESPN navigates the shakeup in television as viewers defect from traditional pay TV services and online services proliferate. Chief Executive Bob Iger told analysts that Disney added customers on new digital platforms, but not enough to make up for subscriber losses from expanded basic cable packages. Shares of the world's biggest entertainment company dropped 2.4 percent in after-hours trading.

In the weeks approaching the Women's March on Washington, a woman in Los Angeles accidentally created what became the most popular accessory among protesters: a pussy hat. "I wanted to do something more than just show up," Krista Suh told the Los Angeles Times. "How can I visually show someone what's going on? And I realized as a California girl, I would be really cold in D.C. - it's not tank-top weather year-round. So I thought maybe I could knit myself a hat." Suh made the knitting pattern freely available online, and soon women across the country were working quickly...
