  • No Judges Confirmed This Week (obviously)

    01/25/2020 3:35:09 AM PST · by cotton1706 · 1 replies
This will be a weekly post. Count remains at 185 judges confirmed. 133 District Court judges 50 Circuit Court judges 2 Supreme Court justices While there's no court news this week, keep in mind that an undercurrent of the impeachment saga is to prevent Trump from further eroding the Democrats' preferred lawmaking body, their unelected legislature: the courts. And in this, they have failed, and will fail. Trump will have been elected, impeached, acquitted, reelected, and will continue to make fantastic judicial appointments despite all their efforts.
  • TERRIFIC! Alabama Senate Candidate Tuberville Blasts Snake Jeff Sessions for Turning on President Trump

President Trump retweeted an Alabama Senate Poll on Thursday night. Snake Jeff Sessions leads former Auburn Football Coach Tommy Tuberville 35% to 31% in the GOP primary. This was NOT a shout out to Jeff Sessions. Jeff Sessions is a turncoat and traitor who put the United States and Trump Administration through two years of HELL! It was Jeff Sessions who turned on Trump and opened the Mueller probe. This Trump tweet was an endorsement for Tuberville!
  • Misfit Wendy Davis Spouts Wide-Eyed Leftism in TX-21

A year ago, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced its aim to flip Texas’s 21st District. It’s a longtime GOP seat, held by freshman Rep. Chip Roy and for three prior decades by the equally conservative Lamar Smith. Republican win margins have tightened there over time, but Democrats still need some right-leaning voters to split their tickets. So, they’re gearing to nominate… Wendy Davis? The former state senator’s 2013 filibuster of pro-life legislation, her failed 2014 gubernatorial campaign, and her subsequent nonprofit work have made her nationally famous for abortion liberalism. Her reality is more complicated; she is extreme...
  • Rule Change Would Ban Judges' Federalist Society Membership

As Democrats’ efforts to oust President Trump from office have played out in the Senate this week, his opponents in the judiciary branch of government quietly maneuvered to curb conservatives’ growing influence on the federal bench. The ethical advisory arm of the federal judiciary is quietly circulating a draft rule that would ban judges and their clerks from belonging to the Federalist Society, an organization aimed at fostering an originalist interpretation of the Constitution at law schools and through forums and debates across the country. The proposed rules change is the latest salvo in a campaign to cast the Federalist...
  • Schiff Reveals Democrats’ Real Goal: Destroy U.S. Elections

Ol’ Bugeyes just let the cat out of the bag. – One of the main long term goals held by the Democrat Party for the past century now has been to destroy the validity of elections in the United States, as they strive to enact their longed-for Soviet-style utopia. We have seen them ramp that effort up to epic proportions in the 21st century, as they have consistently refused to accept the validity of any Republican victory, variously blaming negative outcomes on fantasy-based “voter suppression” or interference by the Russians. The party’s leaders and their toadies in the corrupt, fake...
  • Adam Schiff: Americans Are Too Stupid To Decide Elections

U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the congressman known for falsely claiming for years he had evidence of Trump campaign 2016 collusion with Russia and for putting a fabricated Trump phone transcript in the congressional record, has gone off the deep end this time, says talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh. In his opening statement Wednesday in the impeachment trial of President Trump, Schiff charged that the results of elections cannot be trusted and Americans who vote are too stupid to make such decisions."He actually said it. The son of a ... actually said it," Limbaugh told his listeners. Schiff said the Senate...

Despite his short time in politics, President Trump has mastered the art of the stump speech. Beyond his trademark speaking style, he has proven adept at firing up his base by citing the most popular accomplishments of his administration. Among those garnering the loudest reactions are construction of the border wall, reforming the Veterans Administration and getting more worker-friendly trade deals. Big cheers all around. Further down the list is the presidentÂ’s growing number of appointments to the federal bench. It gets applause, but do people really understand what it means? While it lacks the red-meat sizzle of the border...

  • ‘Nobody Likes Him’: Hillary Clinton Risks a Party Split Over Bernie Sanders

WASHINGTON — For three years, Hillary Clinton has watched the Democratic Party search for a path forward in the Trump era. She’s watched as liberals and moderates clashed on how best to fight President Trump and a White House that was almost hers. She’s watched as some voters questioned the “electability” of the six women running for president, doubts that she once faced. She’s watched as Senator Bernie Sanders has risen, after his withering opposition to her in the 2016 presidential primary, to become the dominant liberal force in the 2020 race. And she’d largely refrained from weighing in —...

It’s election season, left and right are clamoring for every penny possible to help them win. That means they’re coming for you, and more specifically, they’re coming for your wallet. Hold on to it tightly. Every election there are people who get filthy rich, or richer, by finding new and creative ways of separating you from your hard-earned money. Campaigns, parties, and Political Action Committees (PACs) spend a fortune trying to get you to give any amount. The campaigns and parties lie, spin, and anything else they think will get them some of your money. (I’ve written about how campaigns...
  • Impeachment Tuesday: Have Right and Wrong “Departed?”

On the eve of Impeachment Tuesday in the Senate, I am acutely aware of how strong the positions of people on opposite sides of this historic event are. Both believe they are right and the other side is wrong. When it comes to the really big truths in life, I’ve never been a fan of bet-hedging or the notion that “The truth is somewhere in the middle.” There are facts and there are what you think and feel about them. Some often confuse the two. But with so much outright propaganda in politics today, how does one determine the facts?...

Three years ago! And one year from now (God willing!) Donald Trump will be sworn in for a second term. But in three short years, these are his accomplishments, just off the top of my head. TPP trade deal - gone Iran Deal - gone Paris Climate Change accords - gone NAFTA - gone (just last week replaced by USMCA) Individual Mandate to purchase health care - gone Corporate Taxes - slashed to 21% Regulations - large bulk eliminated Judges - Confirmed (185 total, 2 Supreme Court, 50 Circuit, 133 District) NATO - paying more of its dues ISIS Caliphate...

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Two of the first three states to vote in the Democratic presidential race will use new mobile apps to gather results from thousands of caucus sites - technology intended to make counting easier but that raises concerns of hacking or glitches. Democratic Party activists in Iowa and Nevada will use programs downloaded to their personal phones to report the results of caucus gatherings to the state headquarters. That data will then be used to announce the unofficial winners. Paper records will later be used to certify the results. The party is moving ahead with the...

This will be a weekly post. Count remains at 185 judges confirmed. 133 District Court judges 50 Circuit Court judges 2 Supreme Court justices Senate impeachment trial for the next week or three so no judges will be confirmed. However, (hat tip to Freeper House Atreides!) the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday held hearings on 11 judges (1 Circuit, 7 District, 2 Federal Claims, 1 International Claims). So these should be voted to the floor as soon as they're free and able. Also, Halil "Sul" Ozerden, nominee in the last session to the 5th Circuit vacancy, was quietly not renominated...
  • 'Faithless elector': Supreme Court will hear case that could change how presidents are chosen

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court agreed Friday to take up an issue that could change a key element of the system America uses to elect its president, with a decision likely in the spring just as the campaign heats up. The answer to the question could be a decisive one: Are the electors who cast the actual Electoral College ballots for president and vice president required to follow the results of the popular vote in their states? Or are they free to vote as they wish? A decision that they are free agents could give a single elector, or a...
  • State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has enough signatures to stay on March 17 ballot

Handing a small victory to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, the hearing officer who listened to arguments on whether her nominating petition to run for office was legitimate, has recommended the first-term prosecutor stay on the ballot in her bid for reelection, records show. Foxx’s nominating petition signatures had been challenged in an effort to keep her name off the March 17 primary election ballot in Cook County. Objectors argued that Foxx had too many invalid signatures in her petition and that represented a “pattern of fraud,” but hearing officer Barbara Goodman wrote in her decision that they didn’t...

  • Wisconsin Elections Leaders in Contempt; Told to Purge 200,000 Voters from Rolls. A conservative group says removing names is merely following existing rules. Liberals say the move is aimed at dropping Democrats before the 2020 election.

A Wisconsin judge held three state election commissioners in contempt on Monday and ordered them to proceed immediately with purging more than 200,000 people from the state’s voter rolls. The ruling by Judge Paul V. Malloy of Ozaukee County Circuit Court doubled down on his finding last month that thousands of voters who are believed to have moved should have their registrations canceled in Wisconsin, a narrowly divided state that has become a focal point of the 2020 presidential battle. The debate over whether voters should be purged from the rolls has become a proxy for the state’s tense partisan...
