Three police officers have been pulled from street duty for their safety in Southern California after a video of them shooting a dog dead as they arrested its owner hit the internet. A cellphone video that had more than 3.7 million views on YouTube by Thursday morning shows the dog, named Max, being shot after scrambling out of a car's back seat through a window and lunging at officers who had handcuffed its master. Police responded to a call to Turney and McCracken roads around 6:30 p.m. today for a complaint about a group of kids throwing water balloons at cars. A police SWAT team member shot a man in the foot yesterday as Louisville Metro Police officers tried to serve a search warrant at an apartment complex on Six Mile Lane. The unnamed officer fired when a pit bull dog ''raised up and lunged at him,'' said Officer Dwight Mitchell, a metro police spokesman.
