DOG SHOOTING INCIDENT CAN PROVIDE SOLUTION TO PROBLEMS FACING U.S.
Vanity | 12 January 2003 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

FREEPERS TAKE NOTE:
One thread discussing marijuana legalization generates > 1000 comments.
Dozens of threads discussing police abuse of power generate > 600 comments.

We have some serious problems facing this nation. Government is a problem. The economy is a problem. The people living here are a a problem. External enemies (Muslim Extremists) are a problem. Drugs are a problem. Sexual immorality is a problem. Don’t have room to list all of the problems. What’s the solution? Well, someone posted the above except that the threads about police abuse have WAY OVER 150 comments each. In fact, one has over 600 comments and I’m sure others have exceeded that.

Based on the above information, I believe I can solve the present crisis with Iraq and North Korea. To motivate Americans to fight ‘til the death to defeat Iraq and North Korea (and probably China as well) we have to set up the following:

Let’s set up a scenario where the Muslim Extremists are allowed to, helped to (or deceitfully portrayed as the ones who are shown to) kill a bunch of dogs in a kennel somewhere. Publicize this widely and then show video of Koreans killing, preparing and eating dogs (which they do culturally anyway). Military enrollment would skyrocket, the draft could be reinstated and military commanders could shout, "Remember the dogs!" as young men and women launched themselves in to battle ready to die for the cause.

From what I’ve read on the threads discussing the slain dog by officer Hall of Cookeville, TN, we have just the motivation we need to fight a major world war right there. In fact, we might be able to insinuate that Officer Hall is actually a radical Muslim militant masquerading as a police officer. High-level government officials could probably get him to confess to that. Then, the war would essentially be won. We might even offer terms of peace to the enemy combatants BEFORE things get started because if we cut this bunch loose on them after the "dog killing" they won’t have a prayer. Men, women and children will die.

War problem solved.

LOL!

You're behind the power curve Mene...

So-called 'Officer' Hale doesn't have to be falsely labeled a TERRORIST.

He IS a TERRORIST.

By definition.

I think a good test of whether this cop is any good is if the townpeople turn out to support him. Not just his relatives and the other cop's families, but the whole town with their dogs. If that happens then I would be inclined to believe he's a decent cop who made a mistake.

Good point. By the way...many, many "Halls" live in Putnam County. Some of them are VERY LARGE landowners and probably VERY wealthy. I'm sure officer Hall is related to some of them and will have their support. All of this ranting and raving against him is pointless with local support. Perhaps we could see about solving some OTHER problems?

Oops. Made a mistake...this should have been posted to "palmer" not to myself. Okay, ready, shoot me.

I must disagree with you. You've missed the key point along the way that the traffic stop was initiated by hearsay. This quickly moved to "cause" where a family was threatened with firearms and, in fact, firearms were discharged in this bogus criminal apprehension.

After Waco, I'd ask those that thought the government justified in that infanticide the following:

Clinton and Gore both have children the same ages as many inside that home. Would the FBI have moved and used the same tactics if Chelsea was inside?

And so I ask you, would you want the same treatment for you and yours?

Yes, we could also make doctored videos of:

1. Ted Kennedy driving a car into a lake and failing to swim back and get a dog out of the car.

2. Bill Clinton refusing to pay alimony to a female dog impregnated by his dog.

3. Fastow of Enron saying "Even a dog could make money this way."

4. Osama Bin Laden and friends laughing and having a party watching video of the WTC collapse while they cook a dog over the barbecue pit.

5. A public school principal whose school has incompetent teachers and failing grades running out and kicking a dog that appears on campus because it might be a danger to the children.

6. O.J. Simpson beating a dog to death on the golf course.

7. And finally, Satan saying he's glad that "All dogs come to hell."

I just watched the video for the first time. Unbelievable, the poor little dog was running around wagging his tail and then boom.

We could start by addressing the underlying problems. Hall is not a real problem as I now argue, he made a mistake and it should be noted and dealt with locally. I'll have to stop posting on that thread since it's going nowhere anyway.

But the issue of police militarization triggered by the WoD and soon by the WoT is serious and only going to get worse. How long until we have road blocks in the name of the War on Terror?

Legalization won't solve the drug problem but neither will the War on Drugs. In fact the only way government seems to tackle problems is either throwing money at it or by shooting at it. Sometimes both as in Afghanistan. But those tactics don't work in the long run.

The underlying problems are obvious (immorality, nonaccountable government, etc) but the solutions are very difficult and controversial, and we should aim these discussions at moving towards solutions.

You don't have to look far or falsify charges that Muslim culture and dogs don't get along. I remember reading an article that the decency police in Iran are busy dealing with a dog-keeping fad. It's against the law there to keep dogs as pets. I remember in Turkey, the polizei would shoot any stray dog as a matter of course. I don't think that the Muslim faith is particularly friendly to canines.

How does boot leather taste? Does the foot smell come through? Or is it mostly the natural leather?
